And, Once Again, Boehner Tells It Like It Is

Unfortunately, Washington doesn’t give a rat’s behind.

From the Gateway Pundit this morning, here’s John Boehner’s statement about the healthcare monkey poo legislation that’s been rammed through the first vote. In the wee hours of the morning, mind you.

“The American people have rejected the Democrats’ government-run approach to health care loudly and clearly, and it’s time to scrap Senator Reid’s bill and start over. The bill will fundamentally change something as personal and important as the relationship between a patient and a doctor, and yet Democrats are attempting to sneak the bill through before Christmas in the hopes the American people aren’t watching what they’re doing. Why? Because Senator Reid knows the more the American people find out about this bill, the more they oppose it.

“The Democrats’ government takeover of health care will increase premiums for families and small businesses, raise taxes during a recession, cut seniors’ Medicare benefits, add to our skyrocketing debt, and put bureaucrats in charge of decisions that should be made by patients and doctors. The bill also authorizes government-funded abortions, violating long-standing policies prohibiting federal funding of abortion. That’s not reform. My message to the American people is now is not the time to give up. Now is the time to fight harder. When the American people are engaged, Washington listens. Now is the time to speak out, more loudly and clearly than ever, against this monstrosity.”

Yep. I think that pretty much sums it up.

Time to get louder, everyone. Because apparently, the botox buildup in Nancy’s cranium has made her deaf.

I Couldn’t Agree With You More, Mr. Steele…

I think Michael Steele is one cool cat, but I haven’t always agreed with him. On this subject, though? I agree wholeheartedly. When you strip all of Obama and the Dems’ anger at Wall Street down to what it really is – you get what they’ve always wanted: a “fundamental effort to redistribute the wealth to government.”

Simply put – they want more power, folks. And it blows my mind how leftist “intellectuals” can’t wrap their brains around that. It irritates the living crap out of me as a thinking, taxpaying, already-paying-almost-half-my-freakin-paycheck-to-you-jerks citizen.

Oh yeah, and just to reiterate a post from earlier today – federal employees sure are getting big bonuses this year. And their salaries have been astronomical. Huh….interesting how THAT is O.K. in the eyes of those who crave the power. And consequently, more of you and your family’s money.

Howard Dean On Human Nature And Other Stuff

Communitarianism is part of human nature, you guys. And, this whole debate about socialism and capitalism is over. It’s a tie.

Just thought you’d want to know.

Maxine Waters (D-CA), Circa 2008

A clever and competent reader sent me this clip – which is an oldie but a goodie – of Maxine Waters from May of 2008 referring to herself as “this liberal” and accidentally singing the praises of government take-overs and socialism. The way she stumbles over her words is hilarious, especially given that once she realizes her slip, she doesn’t really end up making it any better.

So yeah – it’s over a year old, but it’s a nice little reminder of what “these liberals” have in mind for how to run the country.

Speaking Of Lying…

obama-liar

I love this article in the American Thinker today. It ties in nicely with yesterday’s entry on him lying, as well as the other gazillion entries we’ve put out here on COTR to call the President out on his lying and absolute void of accountability for doing so.

The quote at the beginning of the article says it all, really:

“A lie told often enough becomes truth.” – Vladimir Lenin

What Obama does is not Clinton’s “likeable information,” but rather he has a true gift of boldface lying. He’s a “special breed” of liar. Lenin once said, “Medicine is the keystone in the arch of socialism.” To embark upon such an ambitious project that has yet failed at every attempt, President Obama must lie, since it is clear that a sizeable majority opposes his healthcare reform.

And, when he’s caught in a lie, he lies again to cover the first, second, and third lies. It’s a lying avalanche, really. And people BUY it.

According to the author, the authentic Socialist is not driven by morality or truth, but by the end that justifies the means. Here are all the lovely little healthcare lie examples the author gives to support his hypothesis:

  • Obama says he doesn’t want a single payer system – but yet, he’s HE’S BEEN FILMED saying that he wants a single payer system. Um, OK.
  • He says, “You will not be waiting in any lines,” but Section 1151 of HR 3200 penalizes hospitals for the costs incurred in readmitting patients, permitting the Health and Human Services Secretary to “reduce” payments to hospitals for readmission, a decision likely to force the sick out into the cold.
  • He ridicules right-wing people for talking about death panels, but they actually exist under another bill introduced by the Obama Administration. Still, he’ll flat-out say that they don’t exist at all. Alrighty then.
  • He says that private insurance won’t be affected and those of us who have insurance will be able to keep it. What he lies about is the fact that individual Americans will only be allowed to obtain private plans for a 5 year grace period, and government plans will become the default should citizens switch employers.
  • He says that 46 million Americans are not covered. LIE. The real number, when you boil out all the illegal aliens, people who choose not to get insurance, and dependents – is 5 million.
  • He said that a bureaucrat won’t get in between me and my coverage, but then he acted as though he had a freakin’ medical degree when responding to a townhall participant, saying that “Look, there may be — in nine out of 10 cases, the generic might work as well or better than the brand name. And we don’t want to just subsidize the drug companies if you’ve got one that works just as well as another.” Isn’t he the highest level of bureacracy? Just checking.
  • And, my personal favorite lie is his ridiculous, DELUSIONAL claim that this whole healthcare thing is going to REDUCE THE DEFICIT. Anyone with Actual Brains knows that this is impossible. Simply and utterly impossible. Just ask the CBO.

The author ends with a pretty creepy quote basically about how people WANT SO BADLY to believe him, so they will.  And they continue to do so.  Like sweet little lobotomized lemmings…

I wonder what it’s like to have absolutely no conscience whatsoever….

Here’s A Great Idea! Let’s Trade Our Health Care For Something Like Britain’s…

Socialized_Medicine

Um, people think this is actually a good idea. After reading this article yesterday about bed shortages in maternity wards have forced about 4000 women to give birth in hospital corridors, “lifts, offices, and hospital toilets” (yes, you read that correctly), I was just filled with glee to read this article this morning about 1 million people who have been subjected to “‘neglectful, demeaning, painful and sometimes downright cruel’ care under NHS.

The maternity wards “shut their doors to any more women in labour on 553 occasions last year.” In just the past two years alone, here’s where women gave birth – compliments of the stellar government-run healthcare system:

  • 63 births in ambulances and 608 in transit to hospitals;
  • 117 births in A&E departments, four in minor injury units and two in medical assessment areas;
  • 115 births on other hospital wards and 36 in other unspecified areas including corridors;
  • 399 in parts of maternity units other than labour beds, including postnatal and antenatal wards and reception areas.

Beyond the maternity ward issue, there’s this general neglect-thing going on, too.

Here’s a lovely example: “Pamela Goddard, a piano teacher from Bletchingley, in Surrey, was 82 and suffering with cancer but was left in her own excrement and her condition deteriorated due to her bed sores.”

Aaaand another: “Florence Weston, from Sedgley in the West Midlands, died aged 85 and had to remain without food or water for several days as her hip operation was repeated cancelled.”

But hey everyone – even though 85% of us are insured and HAPPY with that insurance in this country, we should sacrifice quality care for the 15% that don’t.  And, oh yeah – pay a couple trillion bucks to do so.

YAY for NO COMMON SENSE!

Well, If The Shoe Fits…

obama-joker-poster

One of our clever and competent readers from California sent this to me today. Apparently, this poster is popping up all over Los Angeles and surrounding areas, multiplying like bunnies, presumably over the pending Obamacare legislation. No one is claiming responsibility for it, which makes it even more buzzworthy.

And of course, liberals are finding it “offensive.” But I say, if the shoe fits…..well, you know where this is going. The truth really does hurt sometimes, I guess. Especially when you don’t use it very much…

From “Moderate” To Marxist

I’m just going to start this out by saying, yeah…yeah….I know some people on the left are going to attack me for using the word, “Marxist.” But you know what? At this point, after 6 months, I think it’s become quite obvious that Obama is a Marxist. He may not come right out and say it, but when it looks like a freakin’ duck and walks like a freakin’ duck. Yeah. You get my point.

And, this video and its corresponding transcript- albeit a bit lengthy – is a great synopsis of the things he’s done in the name of Marxism, really. A clever and competent reader sent it my way this morning, and I felt compelled to share, in case you missed it.

The highlights?
Beck starts with that classic line from an unidentified woman during the election that said, “I won’t have to worry about putting gas in my car. I won’t have to worry about paying my mortgage. You know, if I help him, he’s going to help me.”

And, some of us thought that was ridiculous. But yeah….it’s sort of coming true now, isn’t it?

Then, there was this lovely quote from one of Obama’s books:

“I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students, the foreign students, the Chicanos, the MARXIST professors and structural feminists and punk rock performance pullets.”

And then there’s the “community organization” angle, the promise of an AmeriCorps-type volunteer organization that would be just as strong and well-funded as the U.S. military, and of course, those communist mentors, such as Frank Marshall Davis. Or his view on taxation. He said it clear as day, folks. He believed in spreading the wealth then, and he really believes in it now. And, most of us knew at least a little bit about all this crap before the election, but Obamabot-mania set in, and even some of my intelligent conservative and/or moderate-conservative friends fell into the disbelief that Obama was really just a moderate. I mean, a Marxist wouldn’t be running for President of the United States, right?

Yeah, right.

The video is compelling in that it points out that we knew this as a nation – we knew about these tendencies toward the extreme left. The dude’s ALWAYS been a Marxist. So, I guess the joke is on America, huh?

I’ll let you decide for yourself:

Gangster Government

Michele Bachmann is awesome. What appeals to me most about her is something I believe we have in common – a complete incability to bullsh*t.

In this clip, she’s discussing the czar-like structure of this administration. Specifically, she’s talking about the Government Motors (formerly known as “GM”) takeover and the way that things are being handled now – very similar to a “gangster” type structure. It’s mind-boggling that America is actually in this position.

Since the government takeover, private businesses, corporations, and contracts have been replaced by a cartel of gangster-like authorities who dole out handouts and pardons, if you will, to the dealers who are begging the best for a handout. It’s like a pee-on in the Al Capone era, appealing to him for mercy on their business – just to keep a little shred of what they’ve worked so hard to achieve. And yes, I just compared Capone to the present administration. Indeed I did.

The most baffling story Bachmann presents is one of a woman who had a 90-year old dealership. She received a freakin’ Fed Ex from the government, basically asking her to sign her name to give up her business. And on top of that, they want her customer list – presumably so they can just hand it over to her competitor down the street.

Call it what you want, but this is clearly un-American. It’s a bunch of monkey crap, and I love Michele Bachmann for calling it what it is – gangster government.

Open Wide And Say UGH….Here Comes Your Healthcare Hope and Change

bailouts

According to this article, the new health care plan is a heaping pile of monkey poo.  Well, that’s what I get from the article, anyway.

To give you the latest Readers Digest version, here are the nifty little highlights from the Democrats’ proposed health care legislation:

  • $600 billion in tax increases (gee…I wonder who’s paying THAT?)
  • $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid
  • Goes above the $634 billion Obama promised in his budget request to Congress as a 10-year down payment for the policy changes (I know, I’m shocked, too)
  • The overhaul will cost more than $1 trillion over a decade (lovely)
  • Will consider tax increases in the bill (you think?), including a possible end to the income tax exclusion for employer-paid health benefits (niiiice)
  • Will apply income tax to health care plans

Of course, Obama is planning on paying for this by attacking the wealthy first – I mean, he might as well, right? -  then he’s going to cut Medicare payments to insurance companies.  Of course, that won’t suffice, so he’s planning on cutting about $200-$300 billion more in Medicare/Medicaid.

And then the article goes on to talk about how Democrats are trying to spin this nightmare of a Marxist piece of crap plan by focusing on the positive.  Like the more universal care we’re all going to get.  Which, I might add, should not be confused with BETTER care.  It also can’t be confused with more choices.  But it SHOULD be labeled as government bureaucrats deciding how, when, and from whom I receive care – if I receive care at all.

Yeah, I don’t see how ANY of this is better…

I have several questions about this crappy new plan.  Questions like, “If I have health insurance through my job, do I think it’s O.K. for the government to additionally tax me for THEIR crappy health care “plan”?  Do I agree with government deciding and possibly rationing the care for me and my family?  What about illegal immigrants that get FREE health care?  What’s being done about that and how it blatantly drives up the cost of healthcare in this country?

The government is known for waste, fraud, and incompetency.  Why is it that we’re trusting them to make decisions about our health?

I still don’t get it.  And, I definitely don’t want this dose of change.

And, if you still think America’s healthcare sucks, here’s “10 Surprising Facts” you may not have known…

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Europeans Disenchanted With Socialism? Hmmm….Go Figure.

 socialism_poster1

Europeans are sick of economic spendiddlydimulus and bailouts.  Go figure.

According to this article, conservative and right-wing parties are starting to make a major comeback in the wake of all the spending and socialist ideologies in Europe.  They’re making headway and starting to take control in places like Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Britain and Spain.

In Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel heads the “force that is acting level-headedly and correctly in this financial and economic crisis,” said Volker Kauder, the leader of Merkel’s party in the German parliament.
The article goes on to say:

Many Socialists ran campaigns that slammed center-right leaders for failing to rein in financial markets and spend enough to stimulate faltering economies.

Yeah.  Apparently, that campaign tactic didn’t work out so well for them.  Funny how people get sick of being taxed to death in order to pay for crap they never see the benefits of.  Funny how they get sick of government being too big for its britches.  Funny how they get sick of losing their freedoms.  Sounds a bit familiar, maybe?  Well, one would hope, at least.

In fact, the article went on to say that the French Socialists are starting to feel the “need to rethink left-wing policies.”   You think?  Really?

This, in my opinion, translates to, “Gee, this Socialist crap doesn’t work very well, folks.”

Aaaaand…this is what happens when the Kool-Aid wears off, people.

It’s yet another example of what we, as Americans, should be looking at and really paying attention to.  Doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting a different result?  That’s the very clear definition of insanity.

Chavez And Obama, Sittin’ In A Tree…

chavez-obama
Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez, an ally of Cuba’s Fidel Castro, was noted as joking about possibly becoming more conservative than Obama in light of the GM takeover and increased nationalism in America.

According to this article, Chavez was giving a lecture Tuesday on how capitalism sucks and socialism rocks, of course, talking about the GM bankruptcy filing and the Obama administration’s control of the car giant.

On a live television broadcast, Chavez was quoted as spewing:

“Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right.”

Isn’t that whole frat-buddy comrade thing just ridiculously precious?  Knee-slapping hilarious.  So much so that I think I just vomited a little in my mouth from all the forcibly-fed change…

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Bipartisan And Non-Dictatorial, My A$$

Remember how Obama used to say that he was all bipartisan and wanted everyone to just get along? Yeah. That was sort of a bunch of monkey crap. In fact, Mr. Obama doesn’t like Republicans very much at all, it seems. And then there’s the whole “government taking over everything” thing. That seems to be happening a lot lately, too.

Case in point: There was an article written yesterday about Chrysler and the bailout madness and how one-fourth of Chrysler’s dealerships across the country are being given the proverbial axe. Kaput. Gone. But, wait…there’s more. When one looks further into the details of WHO is getting the axe, turns out the majority of those are dealerships that backed Republican candidates or gave money to the Republican party. Regardless of dealership profitability, it seems as though the determining factor in getting the axe has everything to do with what party the dealership owners gave money to….and in this case, Republican backers lose whether they are doing well or not. Smells like a control-happy Messiah. Take a whiff.

An anonymous employee said the following:

“This isn’t about business. It’s about politics and control. My dealership is in the top 125 out of the 3,500-plus dealerships nationwide … yet we are on the list. We are not small nor are we rural. We are in a large major metropolitan area. Our new vehicle inventory alone is well over $4.0 million. Is that small?”

The employee continued, “This is so much more than ‘just business.’ This is about control and power by our present administration in Washington. An administration that will stop at nothing to bring complete socialism to this once great country. Wake up people or get in line now to ‘drink the Kool-Aid.’”

There you have it, folks. The last line of that pretty much sums it up for me…welcome to CHANGE.

Oh, and here are just a few more of the stories in this controversial Obamanomics pile of dictatorial crap:

A Five-Minute Crash Course On Why Socialized Medicine Sucks

My father works in malpractice, my sister as an E.R nurse, and my mother as a patient representative.  All of them work in the healthcare industry in some way, shape, or form.  And, they all say that socialized medicine sucks.  I agree with them, even though I’m just a lowly writer/Professor chick whose knowledge of healthcare is limited to my own personal experiences.  I’ve been sick. I’ve been well.  I’ve had insurance, and I’ve lived without insurance.  But, I can tell you right now that if I was diagnosed with a brain tumor or breast cancer or any other life-threatening illness, I would NOT want to be treated by a nationalized system.

People come to America for healthcare because our healthcare is superior.  Do we need to fix some of the problems in the industry?  Sure we do.  But nationalizing our system?  Talk about feeling sick.

This video was sent to me about a year ago from my Dad.  It was made almost two years ago.  And yet, we’re on a possible path to this crap.  Unreal.

You tell me – can you imagine your THREE-year old being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and having to wait in line for treatment?  Can you imagine having breast cancer, and instead of getting treated within THREE WEEKS (which is the American average, by the way), you have to wait until whenever the government gets to you – on THEIR schedule?

Give me statistics, people.  Tell me how much better this socialized-nationalized crappy care is better than the innovation we lead the world in healthcare-wise.  Someone please enlighten me.  In the meantime, enlighten yourself…this video’s a good start.

Mitt’s Solution For Healthcare

mitt
The issue of healthcare is on the proverbial front burner, and Americans are divided. I, of course, believe in the notion of less government. I’m a capitalist, so I think nationalized healthcare would be a disaster. Period.

When I read this article that outlines Mit Romney’s solution for healthcare, it appealed to me. It makes sense. So, I figured I’d pass that good, common, AMERICAN sense on to you, clever and competent readers, while simultaneously bracing myself for liberals to write in about how GREAT the government can run healthcare. Much like the U.S. Postal Service competes so well with UPS and Fedex. (Yes, that was dripping in blatant sarcasm.)

Mitt, as well as I, believe that “the right answer for health care is to apply more market force, not less.” He outlines his steps for reform in the article, but here’s a Cliffs Notes encapsulation:

1. Get everyone insured. (He’s actually done this in Massachusetts, reducing those who aren’t insured by 75%. Yep….75%)
2. Make health insurance affordable and portable. (Under his plan in Massachusetts, the premium for a single male has declined by almost 50 percent)
3. Give people an incentive to care how expensive and how good their health-care treatment will be.
4. Provide citizens with information about the cost and quality of providers and the effectiveness of alternative treatments. (Competition + Capitalism = Good)
5. Reform Medicare and Medicaid, likewise applying market principles to lower cost and improve patient care.
6. Center reforms at the state level. (Like HE did. Successfully, even.)

For all those Dems/liberals that say Republicans/conservatives don’t have solutions, they do. For some reason, though, they’re just not as publicized in the mainstream media. Shocker.

Oh, and P.S. – Mitt is yummy.

Another Brilliant Liberal Idea – Let’s Rush Healthcare Legislation Just Like The Spendiddlydimulus!

1471744506_8eeb8018cb

The Obama administration is on its way to rushing healthcare legislation through the Senate. According to Fox News today, “by a 227-196 vote, the House affirmed Democrats’ plans to move health care legislation under rules that block Republicans in the Senate from being able to slow — or even stop — it from proceeding.”

What does this mean in non-Senator-person terms?  It’ll be easier for Democrats to have control over the legislation, thereby hurling it through to fruition – much like that whole spendiddlydimulus thing (24 hours to read legislation?  Yeah RIGHT, Mr. Obama).

Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., warned that Democrats were preparing to use fast-track legislation “to jam through a government takeover of health care.”

Socialized healthcare may soon be on its way, folks.  Just think of the possibilities ahead of us – waiting in lines to get treatment, being denied care just because you’re at the bottom of some socialized recipient list, a decline in the overall quality of American healthcare.  FABULOUS mediocrity.  Pure. And. Total. Crap.

Eat your heart out, Canada.

Janet Napolitano Would Like To Monitor Right-Wing Extremists Like Me

crappynappynope

Holy crap, you guys.  I’m a right-wing extremist, and along with the men and women who have served my country to give me the freedoms I enjoy every single day, I’m a threat to national security.  Little ol’ me.  Just a hardworking, down-to-earth, happy-go-lucky blond chick from the Midwest.  Mom and Dad – if you weren’t proud of me for never getting in trouble with the law (well, except those speeding tickets), being a loving daughter, wife, friend, and stepmother, always respecting authority and being self-sufficient and fiscally responsible, working my way through graduate school and not ending up on the pole somewhere, then you should totally be proud of me for this whole extremist thing, huh?

Yep.  Me. An extremist.  So says Janet Napolitano, Department of Homeland Security Secretary.  Apparently, the government has to watch out for freaky people like me.  According to the “Rightwing Extremism Policy” created under Ms. Napolitano, they’re watching out for anyone that has the following political beliefs:

  • Opposes restrictions on firearms
  • Opposes lax immigration
  • Opposes the policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship, and the expansion of social programs
  • Opposes continuation of free trade agreements
  • Opposes same-sex marriage
  • Has paranoia of foreign regimes
  • Fear of Communist regimes
  • Opposes one world government
  • Bemoans the decline of U.S. stature in the world.
  • Upset with loss of U.S. manufacturing jobs to China and India
  • . . . and the list goes on

The Thomas More Law Center filed a lawsuit over this, “on behalf of nationally syndicated conservative radio talk show host, Michael Savage, Gregg Cunningham (President of the pro-life organization Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, Inc (CBR)), and Iraqi War Marine veteran Kevin Murray.  The Law Center claims that Napolitano’s Department (DHS) has violated the First and Fifth Amendment Constitutional rights of these three plaintiffs by attempting to chill their free speech, expressive association, and equal protection rights.

Do you guys smell that?  I don’t know if it’s just me, or does anyone else smell Gestapo?

Ya Gotta Love Mike Adams

sp32-20090403-210412

If you’ve not read Mike Adams’ columns before, you really ought to.  He’s hilarious.  Mike Adams has made it his mission, of sorts, to take on liberal universities and professors, and call them out when they’re stepping over the line (which is, unfortunately, CONSTANTLY).

I loved his last column, in which he provides a concerned parent with step by step instructions on how to cure his daughter of her STD.  Jump in to read it!  LOVE.

Chris Dodd Would Like You To Know That He’s Above All Those Executive Crooks At AIG

 dodd1

Let’s just recap the events of this short week, shall we?  Obama fires the CEO of GM, thereby proving that we’re on the slippery slope to socialism.  And, after all the dust settles from that nightmare of a thought for the constitution and the America I know and love, Dodd McBloatedface gets to keep his job, after being the one responsible for the bonuses (um, Dodd Amendment), after pointing fingers at the people who got the bonuses, and now it turns out that he took big chunks of money from AIG during the course of this whole mess – for his campaign, of course.

I’m shocked and dismayed. Oh yes.

Is it just me, or does something smell bad?  And to think…it’s only Tuesday.  Wow.

So, Remind Me Again – How Is This Not Socialism?

head-up-butt2

The front page of the Washington Post this morning had an article titled, simply, “Geithner to Propose Vast Expansion Of U.S. Oversight of Financial System.”

The first paragraph:

Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner plans to propose today a sweeping expansion of federal authority over the financial system, breaking from an era in which the government stood back from financial markets and allowed participants to decide how much risk to take in the pursuit of profit.

The rest of the article just goes on to talk about how the Obama administration’s plans are to nationalize the financial markets.

Really?

So, let’s see here.  A free marketplace with that beautiful thing called capitalism and personal responsibility is just not as smart as our federal government, so they have to take over and help all of us stupid minions out.  Thank God for Geithner’s huge brain, because I don’t think we can all think for ourselves without his intervention.  I don’t know about you, but my feeble little brain hurts from thinking about all of this very complicated stuff.   The all-powerful and omnipotent government should just swoop in and take over.  Yeah.

Someone remind me again – how is this NOT socialism?
