I haven’t heard this story being played out as a hate crime in the media, have you?
Thanks to Dennis Prager, I learned about a black man who murdered EIGHT white people last week at his workplace because they were white. Apparently, the AP reported the murder four days after it happened, and then it was picked up by the Washington Post and other news outlets. The story as printed in those various outlets focused on the killer’s past experiences being discriminated against and his sense of racial injustice. There were choice quotes from his girlfriend AND ex-girlfriend, both of whom mentioned previous discrimination and “racial stuff” including not getting raises at work. This “racial stuff” allegedly resulted in the killer changing jobs a few times. As Prager points out, one account of the murders indicated that the killer “might also have had cause to be angry: he had complained to his girlfriend of being racially harassed at work, the woman’s mother said, and lamented that his grievances had gone unaddressed.”
The reality is that the killer was FIRED FOR STEALING, which was caught on video. But that was basically a footnote in most of the news coverage, because the bigger story, of course, was that he was the victim of raaaaaaacism. So of COURSE he had to go on a massive white killing spree. What other choice did the poor guy have, right?
And let there be no mistake about his motive. Before killing himself, he called 911 and told the dispatcher that he wished he could have killed MORE whites. He was taking matters into his own hands. But had he ever lodged a formal complaint? No. Has the company had ANY charges lodged against it for racial discrimination? No. Currently, 20% of their workforce is black.
Why is this not a hate crime? Why is the focus on alleged discrimination against HIM and not on the fact that he MURDERED eight people solely because they were white? If this story were reversed, and a white man killed 8 black people because they were black, how different do you think the reports would be?
It’s because the liberal media loves black victims. It loves MAKING victims out of blacks. It’s what has drawn blacks to the Democratic side of the aisle for so long. This kind of reporting about these murders, which attempts to draw sympathy toward the perpetrator instead of the ACTUAL victims, does nothing but further the notion that society has lower moral expectations for blacks. George Bush said it best when he described this phenomenon as “the soft bigotry of low expectations.” It’s the worst kind of racism.
Actually, it’s not the worst. The worst is the vicious, horrific, and savage murders of innocent people based solely on the color of their skin. But you wouldn’t know it from the news stories describing these most recent murders in Connecticut. You’d simply know that a black man was driven over the edge by perceived racial injustice.
