The Rest Of The World Sees It….So Why Not The Left?

Because I’m half of Chicks on the Right, people assume I’m glued to Fox News all the time. Quite the contrary. I hardly ever watch Fox News. I’ll listen to replays of some shows every so often on the radio, but for the most part, I don’t know who’s who from a Fox standpoint. I kind of don’t care.

If I watch the news these days, I usually watch BBC. Why BBC? Because they don’t annoy the crap out of me, basically. They’re not American, first of all, so I feel as though they’ve already got an edge on being somewhat objective – more so than ANY of the American news outlets. There is no such thing as journalism in this country anymore. You’re either a liberal who watches the mainstream media, or you’re a conservative who watches Fox. This is why BBC World News is on at my house more than any other news channel.

This is also why this article caught my eye this morning. Sometimes people can’t see the forest through the trees, but I truly believe that, in addition to a conservative American standpoint, the objective WORLD view is that our country is basically falling apart. And, our President and his First Lady? They’re partying their asses off, having a grand ol’ time on the taxpayer’s dime.

FLOTUS’ Spain trip? COMPLETELY unnecesary and over-the top. Sure, they “are covering their own vacation expenses such as accommodation, (but) the trip may cost US taxpayers as much as $375,000 in terms of secret service security and flight costs on Air Force Two.”

The timing of this lavish European vacation could not have come at a worse moment, when unemployment in America stands at 10 percent, and large numbers of Americans are fighting to survive financially in the wake of the global economic downturn. It sends a message of indifference, even contempt, for the millions of Americans who are struggling just to feed their families on a daily basis and pay the mortgage, while the size of the national debt balloons to Greek-style proportions.

While the liberal-dominated US mainstream media have largely ignored the story, it is all over the blogosphere and talk radio, and will undoubtedly add to the President’s free falling poll ratings. As much as the media establishment turn a blind eye to stories like this, which are major news in the international media, the American public is increasingly turning to alternative news sources, including the British press, which has a far less deferential approach towards the White House.

The MSM is turning a blind eye. But the world? Yep, folks. They’re paying attention. Kind of like conservatives are. Go figure. They understand, as we do, that this Obama administration doesn’t give two craps about what the American people really want. They just want to eat their cake at the expense of struggling Americans.

The First Lady’s ill-conceived trip to Marbella and the complete disregard for public opinion and concerns over excessive government spending is symbolic of a far wider problem with the Obama presidency – the overarching disdain for the principles of limited government, individual liberty and free enterprise that have built the United States over the course of nearly two and a half centuries into the most powerful and free nation on earth.

My favorite paragraph of the editorial was this one, which so eloquently states what I already feel in my heart:

There is however a political revolution fast approaching Washington that is driven not by mob rule but by the power of ideas and principles, based upon the ideals of the Founding Fathers and the US Constitution. It is a distinctly conservative revolution that is sweeping America and is reflected in almost every poll ahead of this November’s mid-terms. It is based on a belief in individual liberty, limited government, and above all, political accountability from the ruling elites. The Obama administration’s mantra may well be “let them eat cake”, as it continues to gorge itself on taxpayers’ money, but it will be looking nervously over its shoulder as public unease mounts.

A revolution is coming. And, I think the folks at the top are OBLIVIOUS to this revolution. They underestimate the power of the American people. They underestimate the power of the American SPIRIT, for that matter.

November is coming, folks. It is so ON.

I Am Genuinely Frightened Of Ed Schultz

I’m not sure who the audience in this clip is, but I feel bad for them.

This guy is a certifiable lunatic. In the middle of the clip, when he whines about Obama giving an interview to Bret Baier of Fox News instead of him, you almost get the sense that he’s going to send Obama a voodoo doll with stick pins in it or something – that’s how unhinged he sounds.

It slays me that this is someone MSNBC gives a voice to. I mean, yeah, Glenn Beck is emotional and chalkboard-happy, but Ed Schultz is rabidly angry and irrational. I’ll take the weepy chalkboard guy any day of the week over that freakshow.

Yikes.

Charlie’s Charged.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Charlie Rangel was charged with a bunch of ethics violations today, and was asked by a reporter if he feared losing his job. Hilarity ensued, once Charlie realized it wasn’t Fox News asking the question.

LOVE.

Aaaand I’m Back To Being Annoyed With Shirley Sherrod

Was watching the news tonight and saw Shirley’s comments about Fox News. She said, “I am just a pawn. I was just here. They are after a bigger thing, they would love to take us back to where we were many years ago. Back to where black people were looking down, not looking white folks in the face, not being able to compete for a job out there and not be a whole person.

REALLY, Shirley? You know, I felt for you yesterday. I really did. I thought you learned something about race relations, because that was the whole point of the full disclosure of your not-helping-the-white-farmer story – that you realized this shouldn’t be about race. And now you’re accusing Fox, who DIDN’T EVEN REPORT ON THIS except in its primetime COMMENTARY shows, of wanting black people to not look white folks in the face?!?!?!?

Ben Jealous of the NAACP isn’t any better. He was quick to throw blame at Fox as well, even though Fox is BLAMELESS in this story.

And better still? Shirley’s planning on filing lawsuits. Against whom exactly, I’m not entirely sure. But she’s planning them.

HATE.

This Is Really Going To Piss You Off. Oh, And I May Have Just Saved Mock’s Life.

So, I’m working away diligently at job number one today when I get pinged from Mock. Her note had a link to this article with a short and sweet sentiment consisting of these exact words:

I’m too mad to even write about it. I’m literally shaking. These are the clowns that RUN OUR COUNTRY.

It’s funny, because I’m usually the one who has to go to her to say, “You know, Mock….I’m about to be a raging beeyotch. Can you filter this paragraph for me?” So this role reversal of possible head explosion was a change of pace, to say the least.

I will say, though….if this DOESN’T make you want to just raise your middle finger to your inept and corrupt government, then you’ve obviously ingested some really strong Kool-Aid.

Here’s the first paragraph:
Twenty one employees of the Federal Protective Service spent more than $100,000 in government funds for clothing and flat-screen TVs, gym memberships and tuition payments, according to a General Services Administration inspector general report, but none has faced disciplinary action.

Wait. It gets better. Believe me.

It took the government FIVE years to “investigate” this, because, you know how speedy and efficient our government is. And after that FIVE year investigation, “three employees resigned, four retired and five employees faced possible reprimand. No action was taken against nine others.”

Because why BOTHER, right? I mean, it’s just stealing. Who cares if government employees are stealing from us. They’re ENTITLED to steal, aren’t they? I mean, this is the USA, folks. Everyone should get free healthcare AND free flat screen TVs! (Why yes, as a matter of fact, that was dripping in obvious and seething sarcasm.)

The “agencies were unable to locate 458 of the 1,058 expensed items the GAO had selected for testing, totaling over $1.8 million in missing goods like “computer servers, laptop computers, iPods, and digital cameras.”

And the government is “turning a blind eye” to this crap.

So, you know what we should do, you guys? We should give these yahoos control of the healthcare system! Yeah! That’s it! That’d be a FABULOUS IDEA, wouldn’t it? They say they can find “savings”….so this whole stealing-from-taxpayers thing? Um, wouldn’t that be a pretty easy place to start?

Unfreakinbelievable.

I got your back, Mock. Now if someone would please pass me the Cosco-sized bottle of vodka. STAT…

Attention Clever And Competent Readers – Bo Would Really Like For You To Be Reading Huffpo Right Now…

And yes, you can go ahead and laugh out loud. I did.

According to this, Bo gave the commencement speech at the University of Michigan yesterday. And he gave graduates this sage advice:

“If you’re a fan of Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh, try reading a few columns on the Huffington Post website…If we choose only to expose ourselves to opinions and viewpoints that are in line with our own, studies suggest that we will become more polarized, more set in our ways.”

“But if we choose to actively seek out information that challenges our assumptions and our beliefs, perhaps we can begin to understand where the people who disagree with us are coming from.”

And then he said that the “practice of listening to opposing views is essential for effective citizenship. It’s essential for our democracy.”

Yeeeaaaah.

Go ahead and take a minute to guffaw. I’ll wait over here.

Newsbusters.org went on to cite 13 different news articles – just a few from the past two years – that have Bo pointing fingers at Fox News and how not legit they are from a news standpoint – all the while praising CNN and MSNBC as that “real” news, of course.

In fact, I think it was Bo and his administration that led the boycott of Fox News, right?

And then there’s that whole bipartisanship thing that he spewed during the election, that, well, we won’t keep holding our breath on that one.

Nothing like some “do as I say and not as I do” advice on graduation day. Go forth and prosper, young graduates. And if I were you, I’d stay far away from the Detroit area if you’re planning on attempting to actually work with that degree you just earned. I heard that Bo’s stimulus hasn’t really made it there yet…

Congratulations, FNC!

My dad sent me this link, which shows cable network ratings for last week.

Not surprisingly, Fox News Channel ranks 2nd, behind the USA network. MSNBC ranked 26th, CNN ranked #32, and Headline News ranked #37.

Just for some added perspective, the CARTOON NETWORK ranked ahead of those other clowns. By kind of a lot! As did MTV, and Comedy Central.

Poor, poor Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews. Getting beat by a channel the White House doesn’t even recognize as a legitimate news agency AND the ‘Toon network has to be kinda ouchy.

It’s Almost Show Time!

In just 45 minutes, Bret Baier’s interview with Obama is going to air.  And Bret posted a photo on facebook, which I thought SO PERFECTLY CAPTURED the attitude of the American people, and Obama’s response to it.

BEHOLD:  Bret appearing to be determined to get a point across, and Obama just laughing it off.  Yup.  Perfect representation of this administration’s abject disdain for the very people they were hired to serve.

SIGN OF THE APOCALYPSE

Drudge has a headline which indicates that Bret Baier is going to interview Obama exclusively on Fox News on Wednesday night.

Holy crap!

I hope Bret doesn’t go too easy on him, and that there is a fact-checker present.

Should make for some seriously awesome TV.

Uh Oh. This Won’t Sit Well With David Pfeiffer.

According to this, Fox News is the most trusted news source now, despite CNN’s tagline claiming to have that bragging right.

A few days ago, Daisy told you all about the new White House Communications Director, David Pfeiffer, and his belief that “Fox is not a traditional news organization” and his insistence that the White House doesn’t “feel an obligation to treat them like we would treat a CNN or an ABC or an NBC or a traditional news organization.”

Well, that should go over about as well as the administration’s refusal thus far to understand the meaning behind the election results in Massachusetts.

You just keep riiiiiight on ignoring the majority, Obama. Judging from the quick and steady direction your approval ratings keep sliding in, that’s serving you really well.

Gawd.

Oh well, at least he’s got all of his first year accomplishments to fall back on:

Democrat Acts Like A Toddler. Once Again, I’m Shocked And Dismayed.

So, you know how liberal radio is tanking? And you know how the rest of liberal media is starting to tank right along with it? Well, one could surmise that the reason for this tanking is because people with Actual Brains are fed up with hearing a bunch of B.S. about how wonderful the Messiah Obama is/was. (A lot of us sort of knew he wasn’t the Messiah during the election, but that’s neither here nor there). Or, I don’t know – maybe conservative blogs and the like are just more entertaining and less like watching a toddler throw a tantrum.

I thought this clip was both interesting and amusing. I’ll summarize for you (with my own creative liberty and free-speech rights, of course): Representative (Democrat) Kucinich gets his panties in a wad over the fact that O’Reilly is “celebrating” the fact that liberal media is tanking. In turn, he screams quit being such a meanie! at O’Reilly, stomps his feet, threatens to take his kick-ball and go home and tell his Mommy if O’Reilly doesn’t stop talking about the tankeriffic tankage that is the current state of liberal media.

And then, in true Democrat fashion, he threatens with that F-bomb: The Fairness Doctrine, of course.

Because of COURSE he does.

When you see the sucktasticness all around you and you’re starting to feel like a loser, threaten to squelch free speech. That should do the trick. Yeah.

A Liberal Professor? Noooo Way.

I’m sensing that someone is just a wee bit sensitive here. I mean, the lady asked a simple question. A simple answer would’ve probably sufficed.

“Birthers, baggers, and blowhards.” The name-calling thing is a knee-jerk, predictable liberal response at this point, but it seems like someone with his level of education could come up with a response a little better than that. Such a disappointment. And I have to say, if my kid was currently attending George Washington University, I think I’d be reconsidering the amount I was spending on tuition there. Way to raise the bar of higher education there, bud.

Liberal Playbook Rule #3: Keep On Blaming Fox News

If I’m not mistaken, I think the playbook rule #1 is to call everyone who doesn’t agree with you a teabagging redneck racist. Rule #2 is to blame Bush, of course. And rule #3? Blame Fox News.

Now that Mao-loving Anita Dunn has stepped down as Communications Director for Bo, the new Sheriff is in town. Daniel Pfeiffer has what the New York Times describes as an “even temperament that fits in well with the “no drama” style that Mr. Obama expects of his senior aides.” Because we all know that his senior aides have never been dramatic. Nah.

Oh yeah, and he was a communications director for Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana, so those of us in Indiana know that by default, he has the talent of talking out of 19 sides of his mouth. So, we have that, at least.

It’s a new day. A breath of fresh air. So fresh that he’s doing exactly what Anita Dunn did – blaming Fox News and discounting them entirely.

His quote to the NYT:
“I have the same view of Fox that Anita [Dunn] had, which is that Fox is not a traditional news organization. They have a point of view. That point of view pervades the entire network both the opinion shows, like Glenn Beck and Bill O’Reilly, but also through the newscasts during the day.”

Pfeiffer also said that the White House doesn’t “feel an obligation to treat them like we would treat a CNN or an ABC or an NBC or a traditional news organization” but will have officials appear on the network sometimes.

Silly Democrats. They just never learn, do they?

(Yawn.)

Ahhhh! Answers!

And there we have it.

Sarah Palin will join Fox News. BEST NEWS EVER, in so many ways. YAY!

Your thoughts?

Major Garrett, Like Many Before Him, Cannot Get Obama To Directly Answer A Question.

I don’t know if you guys caught the Fox News interview with Obama, but this piece of if was my favorite. You can see for yourself, but basically it went a little something like this:

Major: So, about all of those bogus stimulus figures. What’s the deal?

Obama: We passed an historic stimulus to pull us back from the brink of the worst recession and economic crisis of all time.

Major: Ok, but how’s about all the lies that your office is spewing about how the stimulus is creating jobs?

Obama: We are growing the economy and during my every waking hour I am focused on growing jobs.

Major: Right. But what say you to the criticism of all the TOTALLY INACCURATE DATA coming from your people about jobs saved and created?

Obama: That’s a side issue.

Now, that was paraphrasing, obviously. Except the side issue part – HE REALLY SAID THAT. The website, recovery.org, which $18 million of OUR MONEY went towards creating so that there’d be all sorts of transparency and openness about how the stimulus money is used, is listing fake congressional districts all over the country, and nearly $100 billion is unaccounted for because that website says it WENT to non-existent districts, and it’s apparently A SIDE ISSUE.

Can someone please explain to me why anyone takes this joker seriously anymore?

PS. Obama survived the Fox News Channel interview. Anita Dunn can calm down now.
