This is either incontrovertible proof that Democrats have no idea what was in the legislation they passed, or incontrovertible proof that Democrats have absolutely no problem lying to their constituents, right to their faces.
I love this clip. It’s from this morning’s Fox News Sunday, and Paul Ryan not only has to school this Democrat chick on the Catholic doctrine, but he also brings a Ross Perot-like chart.
It’s hard to dispute rational data. Well, unless you’re one of those happy-feely liberals, that is.
Ryan – 1. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) – Zilch.
Oh, and P.S. – someone please remind me to never live in Florida. Geez.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) has all sorts of sage words for everyone, and particularly women, who she apparently now believes she speaks for as a whole.
“The GOP repulses women,” she says. Huh. That’s fascinating. She miiiiight want to take a look at Indiana, who has 4 women candidates running for state offices in the next election cycle. Or, she might want to have a chat with Michelle Bachmann or Sarah Palin or even lowly people like me and Daisy to see what we think about her comment.
Now – does the GOP have a ways to go in rebranding itself and getting a full makeover? Sure, but we’re well on our way, and I’d suggest that the Democratic party has an image issue of their own to contend with *cough* SEIU thugs and ACORN *cough*.
And it’s positively hilarious to me (and by hilarious I of course mean incredibly sad and pathetic) that the very abortion amendment which made the House bill PASS is now going to be stripped away from the Senate version. I hope all those clowns (particularly the three Indiana congressmen who voted for it) realize how duped they just got.
I’ve been thinking, after watching Rep. Wasserman Schultz (D-FL-imsy Argument) about how Democrats could convince me that their plan is truly deficit-neutral.
I think they should scrap any changes to the current healthcare system for a full year. Drop all bills moving through committees right now, and actually work on fixing all of the fraud, waste, and abuse that they claim is going to be the source of the funding for their programs. And then, they should set aside all of the billions of dollars they save by cutting fraud, waste, and abuse, into an interest-bearing savings account. And, after a year, if they have enough money saved up, or can show a trend of savings they’re seeing related to eliminating fraud, waste, and abuse, they can start crafting up their bills again.
Thoughts?
P.S. Focusing on prevention is noble, admirable, aaaaand a total joke. See here.
