Holy Mother Of Insanity

You guys, Keith Olbermann is Actually Suggesting that the CIA ignored the intelligence on Abdulmutallab so that the dude would go ahead and blow up the plane and kill a bunch of people TO MAKE OBAMA LOOK BAD.

I’m not making this up. You really need to listen to the whole video. AMAZING.

As if Obama needed helping looking bad. Please.

Wow. I Feel Safe Now.

According to the National Center for Public Policy Research, Obama’s new counterterrorism plan is to put the cream of the crop CIA agents on global warming duty. Yep. You read that correctly. I said global warming duty.

The “Obama Administration is tasking some of our nation’s most elite intelligence-gathering agencies to divert their resources to environmental scientists researching global warming.”

They’ve “restarted a program in which scientists are obtaining classified intelligence data from the Central Intelligence Agency and National Reconnaissance Office. Information from these secret government surveillance programs is being used to track climate change.”

I think this dude’s reaction says it best:

“Given the very real threat posed by terrorists, it is ridiculous and downright dangerous to divert any intelligence resources to monitoring polar ice,” added Project 21′s Deneen Borelli. “Its said this won’t hinder regular intelligence-gathering, but it’s also clear that agencies can’t yet share data and track a terrorism suspect who was identified by his own father. It’s unwise to further distract our intelligence network by forcing it to consult with scientists about icebergs, polar bears and sea lions. The Obama Administration appears to be putting a left-wing political agenda before the safety and security of our nation.”

Way to give a rat’s ass about the safety of Americans, Bo.

Brilliant

“It’s Bull****!”

no eric holder
I totally agree, Mr. King.

I think Rep. Peter King of Long Island absolutely said it best when asked about Eric Holder and his interrogation into the CIA.

“It’s bulls***. It’s disgraceful. You wonder which side they’re on,” he said of the attorney general’s move, which he described as a “declaration of war against the CIA, and against common sense.”

“It’s a total breach of faith, and either the president is intentionally caving to the left wing of his party or he’s lost control of his administration,” said King, the ranking Republican on the House Committee on Homeland Security and a member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence.

“You’re talking about threatening to kill a guy, threatening to attack his family, threatening to use an electric drill on him — but never doing it,” King said. “You have that on the one hand — and on the other you have the [interrogator's] attempt to prevent thousands of Americans from being killed.”

Yep. Couldn’t agree with you more, sir.

He went on to say that when Holder talked about being “shocked,” he thought there was something about interrogators cutting terrorist suspect’s fingers off – or, “using a power drill.” What I thought was interesting most of all about this article was the comments. One commenter even wrote in to say, “So what’s wrong with cutting fingers off?”

I mean, the commenter has a point. If it was MY kid on one of those hijacked planes on 9/11 or who perished in the World Trade Center, I’d probably not be completely offended if a few terrorist fingers were cut off. But that’s just me.

King also pointed fingers at the GOP, saying that they basically didn’t respond harshly enough to the interrogation.

Again, I agree, Mr. King.

“They’ve declared war on the CIA. We should resist and fight back as hard as we can,” he said. “It should be a scorched earth policy. … This isn’t just another policy. This goes to the heart of our national defense. We should do whatever we have to do.”

Aaaaaand….cue the bleeding heart commenters…

Deflect, Point Fingers, Move Backwards, Deflect…

So, it’s pretty much a done deal.. According to the L.A. Times, after months of “should we?…shouldn’t we?” deliberation, Eric Holder is going to “appoint a criminal prosecutor to probe possible CIA abuses surrounding the interrogation of terrorism suspects under the Bush administration.”

Of course, he’s saying that the investigation is going to be “narrow,” but based on this administration’s track record of truth and transparency (yeah right), I believe this is a bunch of absolute monkey crap. Narrow, my butt. It won’t be narrow. It’ll be a bunch of CIA agents scrambling to get legal representation, as they’re all going to be part of a narcissistic Obama-led witch hunt. And why? Because some poor, sweet, fuzzy little terrorists THAT TOOK SOME PART IN KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE got some water poured on them. Boo friggin hoo.

Call it what you want, but Obama could stop this. He chooses not to. And he continues to keep blaming the Bush administration for his own obvious shortcomings – i.e. his absolute lack of executive experience – or experience doing anything other than being a community organizer. And like most left-wingers, he continues to keep looking back and pointing fingers to scream, “Bush was bad! Bush was bad!”

And now he’s going to try to prosecute people in the Bush administration for trying to keep the American people safe after 9/11. Oh, how soon people forget…

Of course, the administration won’t say it’s completely, super-duper, 100% official that they’re going to start their little witch hunt, but we all know they’re frothing at the mouth to string someone up from the Bush administration – pronto. I mean, just pick someone. ANYONE. It’ll deflect from all the other messes we’ve got going on as a result of this ill-equipped group of teenagers-with-their-parent’s-credit-cards running the country right now.

The article goes on to say that “a few CIA officials have postponed retirement plans in order to be in a better position to defend against prosecution.”

Yay! More lawyers and useless legal crap that costs us all money that we don’t have! Yippee!

I suppose surly puppies are only relevant when we’re talking about dealing with terrorists – not our OWN people. I mean, with Americans who are trying to protect us, we should totally go ballistic on their butts and uphold them to the fullest extent of the law, right?

It may not be applicable, but I’m still posting Ms. Tess Larue, the original surly puppy, just to make me feel about 2% better in light of the fact that my President doesn’t give two craps about my safety and well-being. Awesome.

Hey Congressional Democrats! Here’s a Brilliant Idea: Let’s Beat Up The People Who Keep Us Safe!

SP32-20090618-195103

This cartoon used to be funny because it was true.  Now?  Well, it appears that Congress can’t let this one go.

According to this article, the CIA had some top-secret, highly-classified effort “to carry out a 2001 presidential authorization to capture or kill al Qaeda operatives, according to former intelligence officials familiar with the matter.”

I, for one, remember exactly where I was when the planes hit those towers in New York City, and I remember how I felt when I learned that 3000+ people were killed that day – BY TERRORISTS.  I was scared.  And pissed off.

So, when Congressional Democrats get their proverbial panties in a wad because our government was trying to kill the people who brutally murdered thousands of us on our native soil – IN A TIME OF WAR – I get a little peeved. First it was Pelosi, screaming about how the CIA lied about waterboarding, and now this crap.  Hello, witch hunt.

How bad of an idea is this? And how nuts are the Congressional Democrats in thinking that the best thing to do right now is to question the CIA’s motives in wanting to kill Al Qaeda operatives? With all the stuff we have going on in our country and with Obama’s idea of national security being a frat-buddy handshake and lavender-scented pillows with therapy – how in the world is this helping us be safe?

Am I the only one that actually values my safety as an American citizen?  Am I the only one who supports my country taking just a bit of the tax money I fork over every month – albeit for something different than saving mice, of course – to keep our national security somewhat of a priority? Am I the only one who believes that by beating up the CIA, we’re not only eroding our national security – much to the glee of those that hate us – but we’re making ourselves personally responsible for any future attacks that are directed at us? We are doing this. Congressional Democrats and their holier-than-thou stance are subjecting us to future attacks with this ridiculous crap.

And, if you think there won’t be future attacks, then the Kool-Aid did a bang-up job.

The article goes on to describe the operative:

“Amid the high alert following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, a small CIA unit examined the potential for targeted assassinations of al Qaeda operatives, according to the three former officials…

“It was straight out of the movies,” one of the former intelligence officials said. “It was like: Let’s kill them all.”

One former CIA official said that Cheney and Bush didn’t support the effort, and it fizzled within about six months.  Bush did, however, give the green light on the  ”capturing of several top al Qaeda leaders, and allowed officers to kill the targets if capturing proved too dangerous or risky.” Why this would be an issue in a time of WAR, I have no idea.

But, Congressional Democrats TODAY are making this an issue, of course. Because they weren’t informed about it.  Boo freakin hoo.  I guess that’s what happens when you have a slew of lawyers with $1000 suits sitting on their fat butts in Congress.  But what do I know?  I’m just a law-abiding, taxpaying citizen who wants her family to be safe from terrorist attacks.  And, if that means that my government has to do some nasty things I’m not aware of, then so be it.  In fact, if a terrorist came to my home and knocked on my door, I think I’d probably do some nasty things as well.

So go ahead and sue me, Pelosi.  Really.

What kills me is that something of this nature that happened YEARS ago is an issue, and the administration tries to make itself look like it’s so above reproach compared to the last, when in actuality, it’s the LEAST transparent administration I think I’ve ever witnessed.  It’s taking over private companies, trying to take over healthcare (and do you think there’s been transparency in THAT discussion?  Really?), gobbling up every opportunity to have power that it can.  This administration – more than any other in my life – thinks that government knows best.  That it’s above the free market and above the private citizen.  How in the hell is THAT transparency?

And, while all of this nonsense occurs, the CIA is becoming a once-highly-regarded institution that  NO ONE in their right mind will want to go work for now.  Why on earth would a smart, talented person wanting to serve the country they love want to work for the CIA these days?  Why would anyone want to put their neck out, take a risk, and do something to save thousands more from another attack – when they ultimately risk being scolded, prosecuted, and hung up to dry for it?  Yeah…..good luck with future recruitment, Barry.

I know it’s Monday, but this irritates the ever-living crap out of me.  So, go ahead and spew your defense of how Pelosi and all of her buddies are right on this, liberals.  And when we’re attacked on our own soil again sometime soon, we’ll see how you feel about these tactics…

Yeah.  I feel safe now.  Thanks again, Congressional Democrats….really.

Pelosi Would Like Everyone To Take Responsibility. Well, Everyone Except Her, That Is.

liar1

So, Princess Pelosi goes over to China today and talks to students and faculty at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Of course, the entire visit focused on the environment and how we can work together with China to keep it clean and green and all that crap. Because THIS is what should be at the forefront of all our foreign discussions right now, people (yes, that was dripping in sarcasm, in case you were wondering).

According to this article, Pelosi “linked global warming to environmental justice, saying the right to a clean environment is also a human right.”

Way to skirt the issues on REAL human rights and not talk about anything of substance whatsoever. Nice work.

And, you know, the article actually bored me to tears, except for one quote that made me feel suddenly compelled to write a post and mock it, of course. That quote, you ask?

“We have so much room for improvement,” she said. “Every aspect of our lives must be subjected to an inventory … of how we are taking responsibility.”

That’s funny. The whole taking responsibility thing.  And not really ha-ha funny as much as it is frightening that she thinks she’s above pointing fingers at the Bush administration and the CIA and alienating the hell out of herself in the process, all the while having full disclosure tucked away in the back of her Botox-saturated little mind and NOT taking responsibility for it.  At all.  Yet asking US to take responsibility for all our actions.

Funny how that works.  Well, frightening funny, anyway.

Newt Gingrich Calls For Pelosi’s Resignation; Remains Completely Awesome While Doing So.

sp32-20090519-152923

In Newt’s latest letter, he calls for Nancy Pelosi’s resignation in his typically succinct, compelling and straightforward fashion and outlines a few basic reasons that she oughta be kicked to the curb:

1.  The person second in command to be our president, probably ought not to show contempt for the very people who protect our nation.  Not a good idea.

2. Instead of copping to a possible lapse in memory about meetings she attended in 2002, Pelosi, she decided to tell everyone that the CIA misled Congress.  And not just in an isolated incident but, as she said, ”They mislead us all the time.” Nice.

3. Newt contends that if Americans were told that Pelosi DID know and consented to the practice of waterboarding in 2002, it would make her look awfully silling for instigating the witch-hunt to prosecute the people who conducted the EIT’s, but worse, it would completely vindicate Bush’s policy. And Nancy couldn’t very well have THAT, now could she?

4.  Nancy has essentially sent a strong message to the women and men who protect our freedoms that they should watch their backs – because they could, at any time, be persecuted for carrying out and performing congressionally-sanctioned orders.  That’s comforting, isn’t it?

She’s a nightmare, this woman.  And I can’t understand how anyone still supports her. I think yesterday I heard that while her approval rating is super low, it’s still around the high 30′s. Who ARE these people who approve of anything she’s doing? SHOW YOURSELVES.

Oh, NOW They Want To Look Forward

BEHOLD: Bobby Gibbs painfully avoiding the topic of Nancy Pelosi in his latest White House Press Briefing, because, he says, the Administration wants to look FORWARD. This is just getting laughable. It’s outrageous that there would be no official statement from Obama on what’s currently happening with the 3rd most powerful person in this country. Major Garrett asks a pointed question, specifically – does Obama agree with Pelosi that the CIA lied to her? And Bobby’s answer is that the administration is working on keeping us all safe by looking forward.

Perhaps he forgot that it was this administration who dug all of this up to begin with. So, apparently, they want to look forward only when it is no longer politically advantageous to them to look backward. Nice.

Torture Memo Backfire

sp32-20090515-125430

According to this, Obama has refused Dick Cheney’s request to declassify two CIA reports which outline the effectiveness of their detainee programs.  This is, of course, after Obama had absolutely no issue with releasing other reports back in April prepared by Bush’s Justice Department –  which opened up this whole can of worms to begin with.  Back then, Obama said there were “exceptional circumstances surrounding the memos” that justified declassifying and releasing them to the public.  I’m still not entirely sure what those circumstances were.  Anyone?

Cheney’s request was denied because apparently the documents he wants released are involved in a Freedom of Information Act court battle.  Yup – the very Freedom of Information Act that Obama was all adamant about his administration following with “openness prevailing” and a “presumption of disclosure” – is now PREVENTING the release of information on some stupid technicality.

According to the article, Obama could easily declassify the documents with “the wave of his hand.”  But he wouldn’t want to show the efficacy of a program he has now spoken out against, now would he?  Interestingly, Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair wrote to his colleagues: “High value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the al Qaeda organization that was attacking this country.”  That sentence was cut out of what was later presented as a public statement on this subject.  So was the section in which Blair noted that members of Congress were briefed on the interrogation methods.  Blair has apparently since had a change of heart, and says he supports Obama’s position that we could have gotten similar information using less harsh techniques.  His office now claims that those sections of the original letter were cut “for space.”   How stupid do they think we are?

A senior Bush administration official got it right when he pointed out the obvious irony in Obama’s position about releasing Cheney’s memos: “So, because Amnesty International has filed a broad FOIA request for detainee related materials, the American people are unable to see memos that document the effectiveness of our detainee program. Wouldn’t the legal memos previously released also, presumably, have been subject to this FOIA? Why wasn’t their release blocked under the same provision?”

Obama did the right thing by putting a stop to the release of the associated photographs, but he either needs to show both sides of this story or quit this witch hunt altogether.  I wonder how much he and Pelosi are wishing they never brought this whole thing up to begin with?

Yeaaaaah….The Botox Defense Is Officially Null And Void

They say you learn something every day. Today I’ve learned that fingerpointing and accusing others of wrongdoing and calling for the prosecution of people in a past administration – when you were a participant and actual spearheader of the effort you’re deeming as criminal – none of this is really lying or wrongdoing if you’re Speaker of the House. If you’re Speaker of the House, and a Democrat to boot, you can just use your double-standard loophole and get away with conveniently forgetting stuff and then pointing fingers at everyone else.

Now Princess Pelosi is saying that the CIA lied to her about the waterboarding. Huh. Nice move, Nancy. Really.

However, I find the video below to be an enlightening contrast to this newest Pelosi revelation. I mean, she’s acting as if she was just oblivious to anything, but her leadership on the committee seems to show the exact opposite of ignorance. (As a side note, Roemer’s (D-IN) little homage made me want to blow chunks. In fact, I’m contemplating watching it over and over again just to lose those last five pounds for bikini season. So I should at least thank him for his syrup-laden display of ass-kissing ICK.)

Just so we’re all clear – Pelosi is next in line to obvious-Mensa-candidate Joe Biden, who is next in line to the President of the United States.  Sometimes I have to reiterate that publicly just to make sure I’m not having another nightmare. And with that being said, can someone please bring me an extremely strong cocktail?

“Enhanced Interrogation Techniques”

I don’t know where you guys stand on the whole waterboarding issue, but I’ve been doing some thinking about it after all of these top secret memos got released recently.  And you know what? I think when you’ve got a whole bunch of irrefutable evidence that some terrorist wackjob you have detained has information about a plot to kill Americans, then you should pretty much have free reign over how you get that information OUT of said wackjob.

The CIA has just confirmed that it was waterboarding and other “enhanced interrogation techniques” including slapping, sleep deprivation, and dietary restrictions, which led to one of their detainees finally spilling the beans about a plot to do a 9/11 style attack on Los Angeles.  And in light of this confirmation, Obama
has, naturally, banned waterboarding and these other extreme interrogation techniques because, basically, it’s mean to terrorists.

Never mind that the US military successfully uses some of these same tactics to train its own most elite service members.   Never mind that the use of waterboarding has no long term ill effects but nearly a 100% success rate in getting crucial information out of  the detainee.  That’s not important right now. What’s important is the feeeeelings of people who want to kill us all.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  If I were asked to actually use one of these interrogation methods myself, I couldn’t do it.  That is because I’m a wuss who would last approximately 32 seconds in the most basic of military basic training.  But I have no problem with trained professionals using strong techniques which don’t have long lasting effects on PROVEN enemy combatants.  Remember – these are people who BEHEAD nice folks like Daniel Pearl.  So I tend to feel like a little “dietary restricting” and sleep deprivation and other things that seem pretty mild in comparison to having your head sliced off, are ok when you’re dealing with someone who’s about to try and kill a whole bunch of Americans.

There is no approrpriate photo to accompany this post, so here are a couple of cute little ducklings.  Discuss.
