Can people not have jobs and then practice their religion and have personal beliefs in their personal time anymore? Wait - I know the answer to that. It's no. No, Daisy.
Take the hosts of HGTV's "Flip It Forward," the Benham brothers, who personally happen to be Christian and are opposed to both abortion and homosexuality. They also live in a free America, last time I checked, and they're allowed to be opposed to both of these things if they choose in their own spare time. But nevermind all that, because their reality show has been pulled after HGTV got all sorts of pressure from the leftist group Right Wing Watch. You see, the Benhams lead prayer rallies, like the one they led outside of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2012 where David Benham told conservative radio host Janet Mefferd that "America’s Christian majority must repent for tolerating “homosexuality and its agenda that is attacking the nation” and “demonic ideologies tak[ing] our universities and our public school systems.” He also leads protests outside of abortion clinics, like this one:
Now, I may or may not agree with everything these gentlemen say. I don't have a clue about all of their specific stances on issues, because I've never met them or been to one of their prayer rallies. But here's the thing - it doesn't matter to me, because the brothers didn't discuss abortion or homosexuality on their show while flipping a freaking home, so I don't see why their personal lives or beliefs have anything to do with their jobs.
But alas, they do.
Because LIBERALS and that open-mindedness and diversity and free thought that liberals like to pretend they have. That's why, comrades.
