Great news, everyone.

Sandra Fluke isn't going to go after Henry McNostril's congressional seat after all.  She's going to run for a state senate seat.

She said, "I am extremely moved by the outpouring of local and national support I have received since I announced that I was considering running for office. My entire career has been devoted to the public interest, whether representing victims of human trafficking or advocating for working families. I am committed to continuing that fight in Sacramento, working to protect our environment, ensure our access to health care, and create the jobs that are desperately needed. While I strongly considered offering my candidacy for Congress, I feel there is a better way for me to advance the causes that are important to our community.

The seat she'll be going for is currently held by a dude by the name of Ted Lieu, who IS running for Waxman's seat, along with another Democrat, Wendy Greuel.  And while Sandra insists that her decision was based solely on her belief that she could accomplish more in the state legislature than in Congress, ya gotta admit- that would have been a crazy 3-way race to watch.

California, you can keep her.  Seriously.  We're all full up on the crazy in Congress as it is.
