This is a page of a textbook in Greenville County Schools - directly from Hillcrest High School in Simpsonville, S.C., actually - titled "The Americans":
If you'll notice, there's a little abstract there of the Second and Third Amendments. Lumped together, for some odd (progressive) reason.
The TRUTH is that "the Second amendment as ratified by the U.S. reads [emphasis added]: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” And the Third Amendment reads: “No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.”
But, this is high school, and we wouldn't want those high school kids to know the TRUTH now, would we? Pffffft.
And this textbook? It's "considered by the American Textbook Council (ATC) to be a “widely adopted” history book across the country, is also “state-adopted” in South Carolina. Apparently, "Hillcrest High School is far from the only school impacted."
So, The Blaze was the entity to point this error out (those kooky right-wingers who believe in the Constitution). And since they did, teachers in the school district have been instructed "that page 149 of the textbook, which includes the faulty information, is entirely “incorrect,” and that they should direct students to a different page that he says contains the accurate definitions."
Yep. That's what they've been instructed to do. Direct students to a different page. Because that should fix the issue of indoctrinating our youth and dumbing them down and making them pathetic, progressive pawns.
And in other news, homeschooling enrollment is growing SEVEN TIMES FASTER than public school enrollment these days. According to this source, since 1999, the number of children who are homeschooled has increased by 75%.
