Rep. Marsha Blackburn Of Tennessee? Saaaaaaaaaaaalute!

Written by

In case you're new here, I'm a Midwestern girl who was raised in the South.  I attended the University of Tennessee for undergrad school, and I have a soft spot for SEC football and sweet tea as a result (yes, SUGAR IN MY TEA...suck it, Bloomberg).

Now that we have my love for all things Volunteer State established, you'll understand my newfound appreciation for Marsha Blackburn (R-TN).

You see, the other day, Obama was talking about how he's a big ol' skeet shooter - you know, in addition to hating the Second Amendment for the REST of us lowly minions and all.

And in response to that declaration?  In line with a lot of folks, Rep. Blackburn is a bit skeptical of this apparent shooting prowess.  So, like any good southern girl would do, she's calling his bluff:

"If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos? Why hasn't he referenced this at any point in time?" Blackburn said Monday on CNN's "Erin Burnett OutFront."

"I tell you what I do think," she later added. "I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I'll go skeet shooting with him and I bet I'll beat him."

Y'all have no idea how much I LOVE THIS.  And how I'm currently waiting with happy, smiley anticipation as to whether or not Obama will accept the challenge that Blackburn has thrown in his direction.

With all the talk coming out of his mouth about safety in sports and whatnot, I'm eagerly anticipating seeing him in his Mom jeans and cycling helmet if he accepts said challenge.  After all, one can never be too careful when a chick is about to school you.

Rep. Blackburn is my favorite Chick on the Right o' the day.

You go on, girl.
