This is an interesting rant by Michael Savage, who in this clip is being interviewed by Aaron Klein. Savage is talking about the fact that Republicans have evolved to the point of basically being a sucky offshoot (an "appendage," if you will) of the Democrat party, and frankly, both parties just totally suck monkeyballs. So we're left with the possible notion of a new, "Nationalist party" in the United States. The Tea Party is a contender for that party, but they're lacking a charismatic "mover of people." There's simply no figure to be the "King David" (the dude who united the ancient tribes of Israel).
And in his words:
"Who's the King David? ... I could do it if I was 20 years younger. I would do it right now," Savage told Klein. "But I'm not 20 years younger, and I don't have 20 years left in me. This is going to require enormous resources and enormous energy. I can guarantee you, Aaron, if I ever did this I could raise probably $100 million within three months easily."
I have to admit - I tend to agree with him about both parties sucking. I tend to get a little (OK, a LOT) disillusioned myself when it comes to pretty much EVERYONE inside the DC bubble. Do I believe that conservatives in this country are right and conservatism should be the basis for politics in this country? Yes. Yes, I do. But we're NOT WINNING ELECTIONS. And, that's just slightly problematic.
Worth a listen...and definitely worth a clever and competent discussion.
