Are Y'all Noticing A Pattern Here?

Remember how I just recently told you about the car battery company in Michigan laying off a bunch of people?  And how it was one of Obama's pet companies - one that benefited from the stimulus (otherwise known as YOUR MONEY)?  And how Obama can't seem to figure out how to choose a winning company to invest taxpayer money in to save his life?

Well, add A123 to the list of epic Obama-sponsored failures.

According to the sourcelink, A123, which manufactures rechargeable lithium-ion batteries for electric cars, filed for bankruptcy.  Like Fisker Automotive, Tesla Motors, Solyndra, and Compact Power before it, A123 helped itself to about $250 million taxpayer dollars to build the US Factory just three years ago.  In September of 2010, when the plant opened, Obama and the MI Gov at the time, Jennifer Granmoleholm, celebrated the opening on the phone, along with A123 CEO David Vieau.  Obama said, during that call, "This is about the birth of an entire new industry in America -- an industry that’s going to be central to the next generation of cars. When folks lift up their hoods on the cars of the future, I want them to see engines and batteries that are stamped: Made in America.

Awww.  That's nice. If he just would have used some of that magic fairy dust he keeps around when his administration reports on the unemployment figures, and blown out a birthday candle or something, maybe that wish would have come true.

Meanwhile, back in reality land, NO ONE WANTS ELECTRIC CARS.  Obama's big plan to have a million electric cars on the road in the US by 2015 is, so far, only nine hundred fifty thousand short.

He picked another loser, you guys.  It's the one thing I will give him credit for being really really really exceptionally good at.
