Just in case this flew under your radar while you were busy watching Joey McMensa give recommendations for gun control, Rahm Emanual is basically being an un-American jackwagon. Because of COURSE he is.
How, you ask?
Well, he's "putting more pressure on gun makers to get behind his push for an assault weapons ban" and "this time, he wants to go after their bottom line."
Because yay free markets and capitalism, huh?
Here's the skinny (emphasis mine):
Emanuel is pushing two major financial institutions to stop their financial backing of gun makers, unless those companies support “commonsense reforms, including requiring criminal background checks on all gun sales.”
Did you get that? Clear and unambiguous, y'all. Let me translate that for you:
"I hate the idea of a free market America, and I feel as though it's my right, somehow, to determine which businesses I deem worthy of financial success. And if I don't get my way about something, I'm going to use my power to try to destroy you."
The Chicago way, everyone.
Welcome to the new Amerika.
