Let's Talk About How Much I Dislike Senator Feinstein, Shall We?

Written by

So, you know how Senator Feinstein of California (natch) is basically trying to ban every scary-looking gun under the sun?  Which, if you are afraid of guns at all, is pretty much every single gun that exists?

Well, now we're seeing a reintroduction of her little "assault weapon ban," which solidifies the fact that Dems are on a gun-grab.  Feinstein's proposed ban includes a hell of a lot more than just AR-15s and AK-47s.  See, she wants weapons to just magically "dry up" over time, and she feels as though she'll be able to singlehandedly do that, and she so eloquently points out that "there is no sunset on this bill."

What weapons ARE included in the ban?  More than 150.  And you can get all the specific details about those banned guns here

Feinstein’s sweeping legislation includes a ban on weapons with any “one military characteristic,” and bans the “import, export, manufacture, sale and transfer of hundreds of semi-automatic rifles, handguns and some shotguns,” Townhall’s Katie Pavlich reports.

Sen. Ted Cruz of TX (natch) had this to say in response:

Washington politicians shouldn’t be taking advantage of recent tragedy to try to push an aggressive gun control agenda. Real assault weapons—machine guns—are already functionally illegal, and they have been since 1934. This proposal would have done nothing to prevent the terrible murders in Newtown, but it would limit the constitutional liberties of law-abiding citizens. And gun control doesn’t work – the empirical data overwhelmingly demonstrate that strict gun-control laws consistently produce more crime and more murders.

The Second Amendment exists to ensure that law-abiding Americans can protect their homes and families, and I look forward to helping lead the fight to defeat this bill and to protect our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Democrats support this, obviously, while Republicans with Actual Brains know that the use of handguns in homicides is 70-80% while the use of rifles/shotguns hover around 5%.

But never mind facts and data, you silly minions.  THOSE GUNS ARE SCAAAAARY!!!

And this just in, government officials will be exempt! Because of course they will be.
