I think Whoopi Goldberg sums it up in this video. When talking about Kim Jong-Il’s death and the pure EVIL that he was, she says what a lot of liberals believe – that communism – or the idea of it – is GOOD. On paper, it’s a great thing. In THEORY, it’s just dandy. It’s people that screw it up. Usually one dude, according to Whoopi. The left lifts communism up…and they think it’s a GOOD THING.
What she doesn’t get is that she’s flat-out wrong. Communism isn’t a good thing. On paper, in theory, or on a neon billboard. And Kim Jong-Il’s commie regime is a perfect example of this. Just ask the people that don’t have food to eat, electricity, running water….or, you know – that neat thing called freedom.
Communism SUCKS. Capitalism ROCKS. People with actual brains in their heads get this. But people who enjoy the fruits of a free, capitalist society while talking about how awesome communism is…well, they simply don’t.
And this, boys and girls, is another reason why liberals are just plain wrong.

What they don’t realize when they talk about food aid is that lots of aid organizations pulled out because all the food aid was being misdirected to the part faithful in Pyongyang, and it did not go to the starving millions. I cannot believe how uninformed they are about the realities of North Korea, and how they forget all the other regimes where communism failed. They forget about the Great Leap Forward in China where 30 million people died of starvation. I don’t understand these people. Communism is good on paper? No its not, Whoopie – read a history book!
Communism is about as good of an idea as Soilent Green.

Lisa Ling – wasn’t she one of the originals on The View? Well, she went over to North Korea and did an expose on how they have freakin’ concentration camps – a’ la Nazi Germany. It profiled people who have escaped – truly heartbreaking to hear just a handful of stories. It’s genocide. Plain and simple. Anyone who shows any support for that regime needs to get their head examined.
The problem with Communism is that someone will ALWAYS screw it up. If you were stranded on an island with, like, a dozen other people, forming a community in which everyone does their part and contributes to the collective would make sense. It would be like a macro-family. But just in my family of six, I guarantee that if my eight year old little “princess” could manage to avoid lifting a finger and let her sisters clean her room FOR her, she’d be only too happy to reap the rewards for nothing. It’s part of human nature. In a SOCIETY, the corruption can ONLY spin entirely out of control. From top to bottom. At the bottom, the value of working harder than the other drones evaporates, as each receives according to his “need” rather than his EFFORT. At the top, those who are paid to take care of the collective have unchecked power.

I’m sorry ladies, but I tried to watch more than 2 minutes of that, and I couldn’t do it. It took all the man that I am to get through 2 minutes of that sorry excuse for an intellectual television show. Please don’t do that to us again. If you must post a clip from “The View”, please keep it to 10-15 seconds at the longest. Any longer and I want to blow my brains over the realization that there are people as stupid as the hosts on that show in our country.
Hooboy! Thank you!! I’m not sheltered, just a busy capitalist, I admit that’s the first time I’ve ever listened to The View. I can’t stop laughing. Now here’s a product of Hollywood communism. Unbelievable. Why hasn’t the galactic gene splicer shredded these obvious aberrations into oblivion? Seriously, life cannot afford to have this kind of “thing” spawning. North Korea, with a population of 24 million, has the fourth largest army in the world. FOURTH LARGEST IN THE WORLD. For defense? Not likely. For offense? More likely. To keep the 24 million under control? Most likely. Yeah, communism works for me, sarcasm.
WHAT KENNEDY DID WITH THE MISSILES IN CUBA??? What the heck did Joy mean? Does she actually know what Kennedy did? Quarantined Cuba! Stated that the US would not allow Cuba to have offensive weapons. It is possibly one of the closest if not THE closest time that this world came to a nuclear war. That is not prancing unicorns and fluffy bunny talking. What kind of an imbecile is she (gee David, I don’t know, how many different kinds of imbeciles are there? Let’s see, Rosanne, Joy, Whoopi, Sean, Biden, Pelosi, Barack, Michelle O,… man, I’m running out of fingers… let me take my shoes off).
And the thing with Whoopi and Clinton. Nothing Clinton or anyone did changed what was happening in N. Korea. If they paid attention they would know that N. Korea talks nice enough to get free oil and food, then continues counterfeiting medicine, selling opium, selling weapons to terrorists, building nuclear weapons, and so forth. Then when they need something else, they bluster, threaten, and then talk nice when someone like Carter comes slinking in..
I would laugh if these two women weren’t so pathetic.
Communism works great if you’re running a Kindergarten class…and you’re the teacher. For it to function effectively, it needs an administrator or administration to determine how goods will be distributed. And then you’ve got yourself a Dictatorship or an Oligarchy.
Elise ALMOST makes a point with her deserted island example. But of course, aliances WILL form and there WILL be a power struggle.
Hey Joy…God Bless America ,where a joke about a dictator is funny… Communist country..not so much. Communism on paper is scary..communism in reality is terrifying . These women should stick to issues that are pertinent to their audience ( Bieber’s dates or Kardashian’s shopping ,ect .). Hey Whoopi, how much of your personal fortune have you given to feed and give power to the people of North Korea? How much effort have you exerted to make their oh-so-revered communist lives better? You respect communism, right? Why have you not let the North Korean government take your property in line with communist ideology?

I’m sorry, but I have to post this. On the subject of communism and/or socialism, I had the following conversation on my favorite Democrat page (yes, I have masochistic tendencies). I’ve shortened and edited it, but it’s worth reading. It’s downright scary.
ANON: …you said young people aren’t too pleased with Obama either. Well, as a young people, a young people who knows many other young people – they aren’t so disenfranchised with Obama that they would vote for any of the numbskull GOP candidates. I think you old timers are screwed, and it would better for you all if you just got with the program. Young people are interested in socialism and welfare states, we don’t mind paying taxes to so everyone has equal access to all resources. The GI generation is almost gone, next is the boomers, and with those old conservatives out of the way we will usher in a new generation built on leftist ideology. And frankly, it’s about time. And before all you right wingers get your panties in a bunch and start flaming me, check it out. Just watch, watch it happen…it already is happening, electing Barack Obama in 2008 was just ONE step in the right, um, left direction. CRG: Unfortunately you may be right (definitely no pun intended). It’s nice, though, to have someone finally admit that we’re heading toward Socialism on the fast track and deliberately – most Democrats try to deny this.
…The other sad part, though, is that by the time you’re my age you’ll realize that Socialism isn’t the utopia that was promised. It hasn’t worked before and it still won’t. Those in charge of the distribution of the wealth will keep their hands on a majority of it. If the young can’t remember history, or learn a lesson by watching Europe, there probably isn’t much hope for logic and common sense either.
ANON: I’m not so daft as to not see the fallacies of Socialism. I’m aware that Stalin and Lenin screwed the pooch on Marxism. The whole problem, I believe, is the, “vanguard of the proletariat” that in essence is contrary Marxist socialism. I don’t think Socialists needed a ‘political party’ and ‘political figureheads’ to protect the ideals of Socialism. That aspect should have been just as collective as the other aspects of Socialism. A lot of conservatives believe that if you aren’t for small government you’re for big government. I’m not for either, I’m for effective government.
CRG: …before you really try that kind of government, try living in a commune for a while where you work hard and bring in stuff and someone who doesn’t do much more than watch TV takes it.
@ CRG: you did a lot better than I would have done with that young “people”. I would have been banging my head on the desk in utter frustration. I personally know a lot of young people who have absolutely no interest in a socialist state, and I would be willing to bet that most young people today have no interest in socialism. They are too busy with a job, caring for their families, and trying to survive the idiocy that is the Obummer regime to play around with that nonsense.
By the way, I’m one of those baby-boomers she/he is talking about, and we are indeed screwed—–but by Odumbo and his buddies and NOT by the capitalist system that she/he so disdains.

If whoopie thinks it’s so great there, why doesn’t she move there? She obviously dislikes this country. I wonder why her and ilk, don’t go live there? I’m sure they would have plenty to eat and enough power to run their t.v’s, computers, stereos, etc. She can afford to buy enough land. Let the pesants build her home, farm the land, etc. *sigh*

To get an idea of how well communism works, go to Google Earth, or yahoo maps, or any place that provides satellite images of the planet.
Take a look at the capitol cities of South Korea, and North Korea. Both are of similar size, and population. Both have a major river running through them. Both are centers of commerce, and human activity.
Seoul S. Korea is a thriving community. Look at the roads and streets and you’ll find thousands of cars and pedestrians moving along. You’ll see centers of activity that have plenty of it. And you’ll see a city that is in great shape.
Pyongyang N. Korea, on the other hand, has lots of roads, and lots of sidewalks, and lots of centers of activity…..and there is almost NO ACTIVITY of any kind. The boats in the river are mostly tied up and docked. There are maybe a few dozen cars in any area. There are no pedestrians.
Where would you rather live?
As these dolts talk about the ‘culture’ the missed a few books apparently. Like Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies, Atlas Shrugged, 1984, Soylent Green….the list goes on and on. Don’t get me started on C.S. Lewis or Tolkien because I am thoroughly sure they wouldn’t understand those either. How about the Bible? Apparently they missed that one too.
Anyone who thinks communism is good on paper is a pure dolt in the truest sense.
CRG: I guarantee you that liberal you were debating with has no idea what ‘vanguard of the proletariat’ means, let alone the human nature behind it. That phrase is so out of it’s element and definition there that what you had was a liberal throwing out ten dollar words with no definition or correct usage behind it.
As a side note…I think it was a crime against humanity that Kim Jong Il and now his son are fat. The mass starvation there and those two are fat. Gives true meaning to ‘insult on top of injury’.
What many don’t now is in South Korea there is much poverty as well, if the North is worse off than the south its is hard to fathom, this must be a result of to much government, not enough (“by the people”). Makes you wonder(not) why anyone would be for more government intervention at all.
I’m a hard core right winger (at least financially), but I defend Whoopie. I think her description of communism “being good on paper” was a rebuff of communism, not an endorsement.
