Spring Dinner Wrap-Up

So Daisy and I started our evening downtown by joining the Students For Mitch at a private meeting they had with our governor. We looked out the window to see THRONGS OF PEOPLE protesting Mitch’s signing off on the elimination of tax dollars funding Planned Parenthood. THRONGS AND THRONGS. Just look!
Yeah.
Yesterday, on Twitter, tons of Planned Parenthood supporters were asking people to donate money to Planned Parenthood, and then a thank you note would be sent to Mitch Daniels as a way of somehow sticking it to him. That cracked me up SO MUCH, because he would completely love that. He’d probably be all, “Thanks for proving my point that Planned Parenthood SHOULD be funded with private donations. Good job.”
Anyway, kids from all over the country came to see Their Man Mitch, and they gave him a petition with 2000+ signatures on it asking him to run. As I told you, no announcements were made last night, but the good news is that he hasn’t ruled it out. It was awesome that Mitch gave some time to the kids again. Before he spoke, Daisy and I had one of them take a pic of us. My camera is SO TEMPERAMENTAL – whoever is taking the picture cannot move AT ALL, else blurriness results. I’m kind of annoyed by that, because no where in the instruction manual does it mention that you basically have to be a statue in order to get a good pic.
(Note to self: Do not get pictures taken in this dress from the side, because apparently it looks like maternity wear at that angle.) Yuck.
We were seated with the kids who started it all, Michael Knowles and Max Eden, along with other students from Yale. We were basically surrounded by unbelievably smart kids, and they were so much fun. Miss Courtney (the cutie patootie from all the Students For Mitch videos) is a Tennessee girl and so she and Daisy bonded over being southern belles:
I got some really good facesmashing in with both Michael Knowles and Max Eden; however, the photo with Max is kinda blurry. Still – you pretty much get the idea.
At the dinner, we were excited to find out that we were immediately to the right of the stage – no more than 15 feet away or so. After the entire room broke into chants of “Run Mitch Run!” for a few minutes, Mitch introduced his wife, Cheri, who is TOTALLY HOT. She did a great job with her speech – talking about her experiences with the Indiana State Fair, which she attends every single day it’s open, every single year. You can listen to her entire speech right here. You can also get a nice recap of the event from our buddy Erin McPike right here. Take note of his choice for VP. YAY!
Our table had the BEST SERVER EVER, who managed to bring me wine even after the bar had closed. THAT is service.
After the dinner, we mingled and chatted with Agent J and Chairman E and other friends, and then we heard that Mitch had agreed to have beers with the kids at a local bar a few blocks away. They were totally FLOORED by this, which was adorable.
LOVE.
All in all, a fantastic evening, but still no answer on Mitch’s 2012 intentions. DYING. I’m so impatient. Hopefully we’ll all know before the month is out!

LOVE. CRUSH. HUGS.
.Yup, sure does look like MSNBC’s definition of a ‘Throng’.
If I were there, watching from that room, the gathering of those societal parasites, and I could open that window, and had a dozen eggs, well, with just one splatter, we could’ve hit EVERY one of those dullards.
Actually, water balloons would’ve been even sweeter!
Wait, wait, forget water balloons, how ’bout some irony, or perhaps “coincidency,” and instead of balloons, pummel those losers with some water filled condoms
So jealous, chicks! Keeping fingers and toes crossed here in Illinois. We need help NOW!!!!!!!
It getting really exciting!!! Our man Mitch will announce and WIN!!!!
What a nice guy to meet with the students afterwards.. so incredibly nice!!!
Is he like a cool nerd or something? He had beers with the students? Awesome!
What kind of camera do you have? If you have a choice of ASA/ISO, you might try increasing the number. You might be on 100, and 400 or 800 would be better for shooting indoors. If you have a choice of f-stop, you might reduce the f-stop to the lowest setting. You’d want to change those settings back for outdoor photography on a bright day.
MajorDawg… that is what he is.
a very cool nerd. The Harley.. isnt a schtick. Beers with those guys.. not a schtick.
Princeton/George Washington Grad….. yet.. is comfortable and at home playing cow pie bingo in some middle of nowhere town in Indiana.
