According to this, the White House released Obama’s long form certificate of live birth today. Why they didn’t do this months ago, when the birther movement was born (no pun intended) I have absolutely no idea.
But now it’s out, and hopefully birthers can sleep well tonight, and we can all focus on important stuff like the fact that Obama, an AMERICAN CITIZEN, is fundamentally transforming our country right into the ground.

Not to look a gift horse and all…but could someone please explain to me why not just release this 3 years ago? And why spend MILLIONS of dollars in an attempt to KEEP from releasing it? And why all of the sudden release it NOW? (especially when it’s least beneficial to the reelection campaign)

Why does it say certificate of live birth at the top?
Where is the official seal? All original b.c.s and certified ccs have a raised seal, or a blue inked seal, or some kind of mark that deems it “official.” I could make one tjat looks like this on my computer, frankly! But hey, more props to Donald Trump for getting BO to do something he wouldn’t do for 3 years! Just imagine what Trump could do to the Reid-Pelosi camp!
My children’s birth certificates also have that same title Tonya… I agree, it is confusing.
Mock – I completely agree – I’ve said so on many other blogs that the Teleprompter In Chief created all this hubbub by continuously refusing to do what he should have done years ago. The Dems can’t complain now about the drama that THEY helped create! An honest person has nothing to hide and particularly for this, arguably the most important job in the entire world, all credentials should be completely transparent and above reproach.
I am not a huge conspiracy theorist so from the beginning I didn’t particularly buy that he wasn’t an American citizen; however, HIS behavior about this whole issue made me dislike him (as if I didn’t already dislike him based on his lack of experience, arrogance, and socialist leanings). I didn’t like that he didn’t think he had to answer legitimate questions from the people he governs, and it made me question how truthful a person he was and how willing he’d be to be open in his dealings as a president. Sure enough, he has proven to be a secretive sneaky liar.
So for him to now claim some moral high ground is hypocritical to say the least. But then, considering his track record as a person and president, that’s not a shock either…
Why don’t the birth certificate have a seal?
My daughter’s Hawaii birth certificate does not have a raised seal either.
Tonya, I do genealogical research and from my understanding “Certificate of Live Birth” is literally that – certifying that the child was born alive and not stillborn. I am not sure if they have a “Certificate of Stillborn Birth” or how they would phrase it. I know my birth certificate says the same thing at the top.
I looked again at both copies of her Hawaii certificate and the seal is so light that you have to look at it in the light. It’s not the usual deep seal.
He stands in front of the nation, saying we’ve had enough of this “silliness”, yet he was the one who dragged this entire farce out for two and a half years. Just fuels the argument that he had plenty of time to come up with a fantastic forgery.
I’m surprised he didn’t fly the entire family, entourage and press corps to Hawaii for the announcement.
Sooooo… how many millions of his own money did he waste to hide this? And now he happily shows it to us? Does anyone else smell fish?
WND has an interesting take. In comparing Obama’s birth certificate to a set of twins born the day after Obama, the serial numbers don’t match up. The twins, born later and filed later (3 days later) have serial numbers (from the same hospital) earlier than Obama’s, whose certificate was filed 3 days earlier. Fluke? Maybe. Boy, Obama sure has had his share of “flukes” go in his direction, eh?
I also read that the Fed is planning a big announcement. Could this be a red herring? Create a “controversy” to obscure the real controversy? Time will tell.

I believe the whole issue IS a red herring. I think somethings going on that we’ve not yet heard about. If anything, it kept the media from lots of discussions about Libya, gas prices, and the GOP not having a good candidate for the 2012 election.
The question is, is Trump diverting the USs attention for the dems, or the republicans?

I am conjecturing that in the MSM’s rush to get the traitor elected, they deliberateyl over-looked large numbers of details of his life that look unseemly or suspicious. Anyone else, like Hillary Clinton, received a degree of scrutiny that the traitor would not have survived. (And it pains me to make such a remark that is favorable to Hillary.)
So what details were over looked?

- Both Parents associations with Communist/Marxist Groups
- his exposure to Communist/Marxist groups as a child
A few years ago he released a document that the state and federal government recognize as proof of citizenship. That’s all he is required to do. That’s all most any presidential candidate does. A ranking REPUBLICAN in Hawaii said that they had seen the actual birth certificate.
Don’t kid yourselves. He’s not the one that’s been wasting time and money on this issue. As for the claims that he’s spent millions “hiding” his birth certificate, take a look at this article:

@tom If Obama hasn’t spent any money keeping his birth certificate (which ever one that might be) from sunlight, how come it has taken 3 years for it to be seen?
I have no doubt that this is legit. The statements about an older man trolling for a younger woman – it STILL happens all the time, but it was the early 60′s. People weren’t as suspicious of every action the way they are now. And it’s not like Dunhams were ever like the Cleavers. There are sadly plenty of parents today who wouldn’t have an issue with their teen daughters dating an older guy and getting pregnant. I can name five from my kid’s school, right now. Obama’s mom was simply ahead of the curve.
As to why Obama didn’t release the B.C. earlier, why would he? As long as he had it and had people talking about this, they weren’t talking about the his record (or lack thereof), or his real politics, or the other truly important issues. I am sure his own money wasn’t spent covering it up. He has plenty of supporters who want to advance the same sick agenda who could afford to fund this exercise in misdirecton.
What else is happening today that people will ignore so they can talk about this? I am far more concerned about what Ben Bernanke has to say today.
We lost American Soldiers today in Afghanistan- I’m not sure of the number, I’ve heard 9 were killed but not all were Americans. How arrogant of Obama to call a press conference and discuss a personal issue (he could have had someone else address the issue, since he sees it as “silly”) and disrespectful to NOT talk about the American lives we lost today defending freedom.
As it was said, if he would have just produced this document when this first came up years ago, there would have been no issue. So why didn’t he? Any normal person would think he must have been hiding something. What is on there that he would not want to be seen? Not that I’m into the birther thing or other conspiracies but as President of the United States, I’m pretty certain that after this much time has passed he has the power and resources to fabricate a birth certificate and have all the “Proper” signatures and stamps to go with it. Not saying he did this but if it existed years ago and he wouldn’t show it but all of a sudden he is now willing, it makes one wonder if it is a recent fabrication. Then there is also the rumor about him renouncing his citizenship to attend college in Indonesia. Smoke and mirrors.
Still don’t buy it….took him 3 years and millions to get a “real” one worked up for him. I perfer not to go down that road. The man politically is Chicago thug slim ball. Let’s face it, for enough money, you can do, get, anything you want in this world. Sad but reality.

Why is the hospital address on Obama’s certificate different than the hospital address of the twins on the WND link — when they were born at the same hospital only days apart?

Because you have no legal right to see it.
On the other hand, people who have had the right to look at birth certificates in Hawaii, like Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the former director of the department of health in Hawaii and a Republican, have said all along that they’ve seen it and it’s legit.
There have been government entities and some of Obama’s lawyers tied up in all the birther lawsuits but the cases have gone nowhere and required little work to defend.
As to why he didn’t release it sooner? Maybe he hoped it would just go away. Maybe he thought it served a political purpose having all these people run around claiming he wasn’t a citizen when clearly he was. It actually undermines Republicans because it makes their supporters look like a bunch of racists who simply cannot accept a black President.

Simply put, this argument could have been put to rest 3 years ago when he chose to run. Then there would have been no controversy. HE created it by refusing to show it. He CONTINUES to create it by 3 years later suddenly producing (and I use that word literally) proof of his eligibility.
However, I’m willing to let this whole birth certificate controversy go.

The non-issuance of the Occidental College records is especially pertinent. The United States Justice Foundation (USJF) served officials at Occidental College with a subpoena to produce records concerning Barack Obama’s attendance there during the 1980’s, because those records could document whether he was attending as a foreign national. Obama attended Occidental on a Fulbright scholarship — financial aid that is reserved for foreign students.
I also believe there is some controversy as to why he has several social security numbers. I don’t suppose I have a right to clarification on that either.

See, Tom, here’s the thing. When you run for public office you make a choice. The people who elect you have a right to know EVERYTHING about you, not just what the lame street media chooses to report. We have a right to know what has shaped your opinions. What has made you who you are. Yes…that includes all of the above information. IF you don’t think we have a right to that information to make an informed decision as to who we will have represent us TO THE WORLD, then you are some kind of idiot. And if you don’t want to release that information to allow voters to make an informed decision, you have every right not to. You also don’t get to run for office.
Where is the complete image?
This one has been cropped.The certification seal, date of certification (should be sometime in the last couple of months) and official signature of the certifier should be underneath the image of the original certificate on the lower half of the sheet. The whole thing would have been printed on an 8-1/ x 11 sheet.
Also, why is the left side of the image curled up like that? You can see that there was something written on the left side that’s cut off. Looks to me like the image is only apart of a bigger sheet. Where is the rest of the original sheet? Or at least an explanation of why it appears there was more that was cut off?

As a candidate, he needed legal proof of citizenship which is what he provided years ago. The legal argument WAS put to rest.
For a minority of people who don’t make the decision on what constitutes legal proof and what doesn’t, that was not enough. These are people that wouldn’t vote for him anyway. What he released today still isn’t enough for many of them or you. Isn’t that true? Really, why should he bother?
As a presidential candidate I would expect my life, past and present, to come under more scrutiny than most folks, but I’m still a human being and have a right to some degree of privacy. All the records and documents in the world cannot give you a complete picture of who I am or was. In fact I could argue that many documented things in my past would give a very distorted picture of who I was as the time.
On my college transcripts you would find a D+ in a stats class. Someone could announce to the world: “See, I told you he was an idiot”. Never mind that that was the only D that I ever received and that I got it during what was probably the worst 3 months of my life up to that time. Anything less than a B was extremely rare for me. But at that point, stats class just wasn’t all that important considering everything else that was going on.
It is time to move on, whether this is an actual document or not. Let’s focus on what Obama is doing to the country now. Any kind of legal wrangling over his records would just continue to obscure what he is actually trying to do with his socialist agenda. I agree with Carolyn, that it would be wonderful to see all those records of his past, but how much will continuing to raise that issue distract us from his agenda? Granted, things like the Harvard Law Review articles should just be there in the library somewhere, available for any researcher to see. But we are wasting time and effort that could be better spent elsewhere.
Having said that, I’m with Mike W. on the whole image question. It looks like one big sheet of green paper, but with part of the left side cut out and curled under so as to look as though it’s bound in a large book. That’s what was said by that one Hawaiian official—–that it was bound in a book. But the top, bottom and right side looks like one continuous piece of paper with the left side past the curled-under section. Sigh. I guess it was done that way so that the controversy could be kept alive. “See, here’s the original. But we’re going to make it look like a fake so you will all keep focusing on it and not on my policies”. Argh!
The green paper is just the modern certificate paper that the image of the original document is copied onto.
The original document would have a plain white background. If the document was bound into a book, then that explains why the left side appears curled up.
But I still wonder what is the written information on the left that has been cut off?
I have to give some credit to Donald Trump over the 4-27-2011 birth certificate issue. If Trump has not put as much pressure on Obama over his validity as a US born president, then I do not think we would of gotten this response because frankly I do not believe Obama cares enough to provide the proof. Obama got sensitive over Donald Trump’s media hype and said “wow, I have to end this, Trump is running all over me” and up pops the certificate, which at first I actually thought was fabricated just to ease over the media. I am still waiting on forensics to be honest.
Yes, it was very hard. It took three years and millions of dollars of legal fees to hold people off long enough to produce a fake certificate good enough to fool most of the experts.
Funny, for such an old document, it sure looks pristine. And let’s not forget about the first fake ‘certificate of live birth’ Obama presented in 2008 that was so obviously phony they had to take it down from his web site.
So why release the fake now? I believe they wanted to wait until just prior to the next election and make it an October surprise to take the wind out of the Repbulican’s sails, but the bottom line is the Demoncrats are afraid of the Donald and wanted to nip him in the bud. Watch for increasing hateful attacks on the Donald if this stunt doesn’t knock him from the front runner position.
All I could think was he must have some internal polling that was pretty bad… or he would not have released it.

Having said that.. I am glad this is over… Trump would drown out our other candidates. With Mitch expected to announce.. it shifts the focus on our economy and all the bounty which is Obama’s record.

You lost the inter-cultural relationship. The father might have come from an area where arranged marriages were practiced, usually between an older, more established man (someone who can take care of a wife) and girl who has recently become a woman (entered her reproductive years). Does a 25-year old man and a 17-year old girl seem strange to us Americans? Yes! But it wasn’t because it was the 60s. It was another culture meeting ours.
Really Tom? No…REALLY? That’s the best you have? That we as a nation get to know ZERO about the man who we have elected president? Because we might “judge” him for a bad grade?
So, we don’t get to know on what criteria he attained entrance into ivy league schools? We don’t get to know how he obtained a Fulbright scholarship as a foreign national and yet maintains that he is a natural born citizen (as today “proves”).

1.) i don’t think this proves anything…this is half-a**ed proof. i want to see the real thing…and yes, we DO have a right to see it, as well as all of his other documents. which includes his school records. @tim: so what if he maybe doesn’t want people to see that he, like you, got a D+ in a class – everyone knows that college isn’t always easy (at least it shouldn’t be). you didn’t see george w. bush try and hide his school records or any of his bad grades and he was attack mercilessly for his academic records so why should obama get any special treatment?
2.) do i think this is all part of some grand plan? yes…i do. perhaps how fake it looks, at least in this picture, is to enrage the “birthers” even more so they continue to be distracted and so the media can continue to cover it instead of the real issues.
3.) stop giving donald trump the credit. it was the MEDIA who allowed him to continually come on shows and talk about the issue. we are yet again having a presidential contender pushed on us by the stupid liberal media. stop reinforcing our power by thinking donald trump would actually make a good candidate.
4.) am i pissed at the thought that our president is not an actual citizen? yes. would it be the biggest con in the history of the world? probably. but it’s not important anymore…clearly the action that is being taken to resolve this issue isn’t good enough so we need to more on, even if he isn’t a citizen. he is still destroying our country regardless and THAT is a way more pressing matter then his birth certificate. he’ll have to answer for his sins eventually, whether that be here on earth or in front of God. in the mean time, we most take our country back.
Carolyn, FERPA is the reason you have NO right to the documents you created. Where are the academic credentials you possess that gives you knowledge of the American and International political justice systems? As a republican I have to say no elected US president should have to prove his or her citizenship in the middle of a term. He said from day one he was an American that has never been my problem with him. I always argued this was a bad issue to run with, and you can’t blame the president now for not trying to prove what he said was always the case, that he’s American, his mom is out of Kansas for goodness sakes. Bo is very vulnerable right now, I do not believe a sitting president can get reelected with $6 per gallon gas prices and an unemployment rate of over 8%, let’s get to real issues.

There is a difference between knowing ZERO and knowing EVERYTHING. He didn’t drop from the sky 3 years ago. He had friends, enemies, colleagues, co-workers, classmates, teachers, professors, and yes, public records, – all available for any decent reporter for purposes of ascertaining his character. And reporters DID do this. I saw interviews with his colleagues on the Harvard Review. Some of them political opposites. None seemed to doubt that he was qualified to be there. So why do you need to have specific information about his grades?
Are you seriously going to tell me that people won’t latch on to ANY blemish on his record? You can’t tell me that while at the same time there are people who will doubt his citizenship no matter what document he produces. I think that’s been proven here on this blog.
Ask yourself this question: Would you demand to see the actual birth certificate of a presidential candidate whose positions you agreed with? Would you be so concerned about knowing every last detail about them? Did you look at the college grades/test scores for all the candidates you voted for?
Personally I think it would be great if he released his school transcripts and all his tax records but I also don’t see releasing them as necessary. I don’t recall perusing the SAT scores of any candidate I’ve ever voted for or against. I also don’t expect or really want that information for prospective employees that I may or may not hire. I can tell whether they’ve got the right stuff or not by asking the right questions and seeing their past work.
@LaughingAtU: actually…i think we are all laughing at YOU. i’m not sure, but since obama is now a grown ass man, no longer in any sort of educational institute, i don’t think FERPA applies to his school records anymore. if it does then perhaps you don’t really know what FERPA actually says.

you have every right to assume that none of us are american citizens, but none of us are running for president or trying to be president (by the way if you didn’t know it IS a requirement to be a natural born citizen to hold the position). so your wonderful little statement is completely irrelevant and childish. way to uphold the liberal stereotype. i applaud you.
Tom…bottom line. It’s about character. Nothing more. Nothing less. Go ahead and find all your moral equivalency arguments. I could point out that we now know more about YOUR education than we do Obama’s but no one cares. What we care about is the fact that he will NOT stand on his record. And that is a character issue.
Do I care about his SAT scores? No, not really. Not unless his school grades did not compensate for those scores. Then they become a factor in how he attained entrance into elite schools. And if you can’t think critically in this capacity, then any further discussion with you on this is futile.
Listening to Dennis Miller today… he had a great point… The Donald can now say he backed the President down. He can also say, that if he can do it to the Pres of the US… he can do it to China, to Libya ect.

A Certificate of Live Birth is different from the full Certification of Live Birth, aka… Birth Certificate. A Certificate of Live Birth is not proof alone of a person’s identity. The quest continues…

Who doesn’t have a copy of their birth certificate? Don’t we all have to show it as proof of citizenship when getting employment? Mine fell apart a few years ago, and I went and got a new one right away, it took about 10 minutes. Why was it so difficult for the freakin’ PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES to do so?
When I was interviewing for a job with a pharmaceutical company, I had to send a release to my college enabling them to send my full transcripts to the company. Why shouldn’t Obama have to do the same? I just don’t get it and don’t understand why he shouldn’t have to do the same for the MOST IMPORTANT JOB IN OUR COUNTRY.
Ok… He released the document. Question I have…… This is from 1961. His father’s race is listed as “African”. African is NOT a race, it might be considered a “Nationality”. Wouldn’t his race be “Colored” “Black” or “Negro”? I’m curious.

The diehard Birthers won’t buy the legitimacy of this birth certificate, and even those of us (like myself) who are merely curious about all the secrecy around this president’s history will be hard-pressed to drink the Kool-Aid. Too little, too late.
