Obama Miiiiight Want To Consider Phonetic Teleprompters

Not once, but twice even! “Corpseman.” Yowza.

I mean, Bush’s mispronunciation of “nuclear” sounds downright tame when you compare it to this. ;)

  • I thought he was supposed to be smart?

  • That is a good laugh for a Friday.

  • It seems to me that David Letterman should have some new fodder for his “Great Moments in Presidential History” bit. Though, I doubt he’ll use these…

  • Holy crizzap.

  • Perhaps we need to refer Obama to TheFreeDictionary.com. Along with every definition, it will read the word aloud to you (often with your choice of an American accent or a British accent — neither of which pronounce “corpsman” as “corpseman”).

  • This is our CinC folks. Think about that. No, I mean really THINK about that! Stop what you are doing and consider how totally out of sync this guy is with the only trust the Constitution demands of the government: National defense. None of that other stuff matters.

  • Wow, he said it TWICE? I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but no longer… now I really want to see his college transcript.

Letterman and his ilk must curse their luck daily that this guy is a liberal, because he is comedy gold and they wont touch him.

  • As a Navy vet, I’m astounded. What’s even worse, is that he gave a speech last year in Jaconsonville, Florida–to a group of military sailors, marines and others, in which he pronounced “corpsmen” the same way!

From someone who takes great pains to ensure he pronounces Pakistan, like “Pock-ee-staan” because he thinks it’s more culturally correct, he shows contempt once again for his office.

Dan Quayle must be splitting his gut, watching this buffoon.

  • Lou: I was wondering if anyone would remember and catch that!

  • It just goes to show you what kind of people he keeps around him. They’re either clueless, or afraid to challenge him and say he’s wrong.

And “let me be clear,” “corpsman” is not some esoteric military jargon. It’s basic Military-speak 101. Anyone who gives the slightest damn would know how to pronounce the word.

  • Sorry, I meant to type “Jacksonville” earlier. At least I learn from my mistakes. Damn Blackberries!
