Transparency, My Butt

Hey you guys…did you know that “Any big agreement is progress. Even if we do not know all of the details.”
Did you know that?
Yeah. Bob Casey, the Democratic Senator from Pennsylvania said that. Because this healthcare bill is all about making HISTORY, folks. It has absolutely nothing to do with helping the American people. It has everything to do with politics, higher taxes, and higher premiums. It has everything to do with going against 61% of us that don’t freakin’ WANT it. How on God’s green earth is that democracy? How is that progress?
And that transparency thing they’re always bragging about? The only thing that’s transparent in all of this is how absolutely full of monkey crap they are in shoving this down the throats of the American people.
FAIL. Again.

OK, this is totally ridiculous.
I’m going to just ignore the whole transparency thing. That’s obviously TOTAL bullcrap. I mean, the fact that this thing is being passed at this time and that critical votes are taking place after 1AM, it’s total crap. Yeah, I’m up tonight, but how many Americans will be awake at 1 on Monday…or is that Tuesday morning? See what I mean?
Anyhow, here’s the thing:
How the hell are you stupid enough to think that you can cover millions of people without passing that cost along to millions of others? I KNOW!!!! I KNOW!!!! All you liberals out there are screaming that you’re OK with me paying for other peoples’ health care. Great, OK, fine. I understand your point. You’re cool with the fact that me and millions like me will be paying for the health care of people who are unable or UNWILLING to get their own policies or at least pay for them. Fine, cool. You want me to happily hand over my money for someone else? You know what, I’m happy to do that, sometimes. But you know, I generally want to be in charge of how and when that’s done. I want it to be ME who decides where, how, when, and why my money is spent. That’s why I give thousands of dollars to charity each year. I pick out the ones that do a great job of helping people who need help.
Meanwhile, the prospect of doling out thousands MORE dollars to government gives me the willies.
I know, I know, this bill is going to SAVE money. Really, are you that freaking stupid!? Do you really think that WHATEVER this crazy piece of crap promises is going to end up costing anything close to what they say it’s going to cost? Do you really think government has spent the last hundred or so years running over budget so that it could use this moment as the beginning of it’s new-found fiscal responsibility? Because, if you think that, I’ve got some land for sale that you REALLY might be interested in.
If you’ll cut my taxes, or convert them to a sales tax, I might take a giant chunk of that new-found wealth and use it to support those who need help. Of course, I’m certain that government is way better equipped to disburse that money. Lord knows they’ve done SUCH an awesome job managing their spending and maximizing results for so long!
So, blaze on big government!!! Everything you’ve done so far smacks of massive success and efficiency.
And yeah, I know, I can keep the plan I have if I like it. Sure… Until you start telling my insurance company HOW they’re allowed to do their work. How stupid do you have to be to NOT know that increased regulation means lower profits and LESS motivation to offer a good or service. You don’t like that insurance companies are making big profits? You want to stop them from “taking advantage” by passing legislation that limits their ability to do so? Go ahead and try. They’ll figure out a new way to make those profits or…THEY’LL QUIT PROVIDING THE SERVICE!!!! When that happens, prices rise!
So, kudos to you dumba$$es! Thanks so much for taking the next step toward making healthcare a RIGHT for Americans. You’ve crapped on the independent spirit of Americans yet again and helped us all become a little more reliant on the nanny state. And for what? Ten or twelve more years in your cushy office in DC? Yeah, that’s worth ruining a country.
I feel a little better. Not much.
To majordawg:
Excellent points made. The truth, though, the ugly truth is that in a socialist, government-run society, health care is the most important thing to gain control over, a cash cow for the government. It has NOTHING to do with providing excellent health care, and EVERYTHING to do with power and removing personal liberties of the people. If it were a matter of decreasing health care costs, tort reform and fixing current government-run entitlements like Medicare would resolve most of the problem we have with rising health care costs. Most politicians avoid mentioning or considering tort reform because it would affect the income of lawyers, many of whom are in Congress.
As a former Democrat, I’ve come to realize that “help the people” rhetoric from the majority of statist Dems actually means “control your life” and “lock in your vote for Democrats.” Control of a nation’s health care is the grand enchilada of power-grabbing, because we all have health concerns. One Dem senator recently equated mandated health care insurance to that of mandated auto insurance. What a farce… no one is forced to buy auto insurance unless he or she drives a car. Children are not forced to buy auto insurance. Free auto insurance is not given to illegal aliens or welfare recipients. So comparing the two is disingenuous and erroneous.
This cat fight mess in Washington is hurting the Democrat party far more than they realize. I only hope that the blizzard hitting the East Coast (one more mocking of Mother Nature against the global warming scam) will prevent the Christmas Eve congressional vote. The next few days will be interesting.
MD: Good rant!
This isn’t about helping people, but it about government dependence and control. It is fixing the vote for future generations of Democrats.
I wonder just how many more people are going to continue to fall for manufactured crisis in this country.
A good analysis is here, methinks…
