So, About Today.

I don’t know if you guys have been watching the C-Span coverage of the House floor debate today, but it’s been pretty depressing.  There are so many Democratic congresspeople who are waaaaay more concerned with a chance to “make history” than they are with the Actual Content of the bill they’re voting on, that it just makes me want to punch them all in the face.

Yep – they’re going to make history, all right.  If this crap passes, and you guys – it’s practically a certainty that it will – then this day will forever be known as the day that our government did our country one of the biggest disservices of all time.  It’s so totally depressing.

Meantime, we’ve got a President who’s lecturing us all about “not rushing to judgment” or “jumping to conclusions” about the motive of the psychopath who shot at innocent people at Fort Hood, despite the fact that  this same president quickly said Sgt Crowley acted stupidly in that whole Professor Gates incident.  I have to wonder when, assuming Hasan comes out of his coma, he’ll be invited over for beer at the White House to discuss religious equality.  GAWD.

Anyway, I’m kinda bitter today.  :)   Can ya tell?  The latest reports indicate that the final healthcare vote will take place at 11pm tonight.  So when we all wake up tomorrow, our country will likely be a little less recognizable than it is today.

Thanks a lot, Democrats.  You suck.

  • About the Fort Hood shootings: now, if Obama hires a guy to dress in camouflage and run around the fort with a cap pistol, recreating the event (like he did with the low-flying plane over New York), we’ll know he’s reveling in reliving the wondrous victory of Muslim forces.

    Wait for it . . .

  • It is a sad evening…I have vowed the American people will wake up and see we have a mini-Hitler in charge. How can so many have blind eyes to what this man is doing to this country and our liberties (what is left)? If this health care passes then how soon will the government tell us when and what to eat?

  • crap, it passed at least i’ll have nightmares now instead of waking up to a horrible day. oh wait it will still be horrible…

  • I was at the tea party at the Capitol today (pretty small crowd) and Rep. King, Bachmann, etc. were nice enough to get the crowd tickets into the house gallery. I got in there around 3pm to watch the “debate”, and saw Waxman (even uglier in person), Frank, Rangel, and the rest of the jerks. They were all smiling and seemed very relaxed….seemed like they knew they had it. One of the Capitol Police officers told me he was guarding Pelosi’s office last night and she told him they were going to win.

Just sitting in the gallery I felt something was off. Maybe what was off was I was supposedly sitting in the most powerful representative government building in the world watching a debate on how to take freedom away from me.

Oh, and one more thing: Rep. Joseph Cao is a joke. Why call yourself republican? This all just makes me sick. What a punk.

  • I think the most disgusting part happened when Pelosi said it was bipartisan vote. Because ONE so called republican voted for the bill. Just further proof that the far left has no concept of what truth is or even a basic understanding of statistics.

  • Cindy – I’ve been saying all along that Obama is a modern day Hitler. Hitler was a charismatic speaker that was so convincing, that people followed him like sheep to a slaughter. God helpn us.

  • Could someone (maybe Cindy, since you seem to feel we have few liberties left) please give me an example of a freedom or two they’ve lost since the Obama administration began?

@Lyea – you”re complaining about the wrong thing — Pelosi knows about truth, and basic statistics. She also seems to know quite a bit about spin.

For those of you so concerned about the state of healthy debate and bipartisanship in this country – well, you’re side doesn’t seem to be helping the issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewafPV2brQA&feature=player_embedded

  • The great thing about a true democracy is that laws can be created and they can be undone (amended). The protection of our inalienable rights not withstanding, our constitution ensures us that nothing is carved in stone…I must say however, comparing a US President (no matter who it is)to a psychotic, racist, anti semetic, mass murderer, is unproductive chatter. It did not take a brain surgon to see months ago that this bill was probably going to pass. That’s why I ignored all the hoopla about it over the summer. The primary challenge facing this presidency now, remains as it it did when he was first elected, other than keeping us safe, is simply creating jobs and the expansion of the US economy. Obama argues that in the long run this bill will bring down health cost, which now averages us about $6,000 a year per US citizen, leaving us at about a 28th place ranking in terms of life expectancy rates compared to the world’s top industrialized nations-pretty freaking pathetic. And, that in doing so, this will help spur mitagating systemic economic growth on the backend…Well, we’ll have to see. If he achieves the beginnings of this, it will be a good thing, for him, his party and all of us, and as patriots we should appluad this, however if the jobless rate stays above %10.02, where it is now, he will be toast, starting in 2010. As Sean Hannity says, “do not let your heart be troubled”…either way! He has about six-eight months to pull it off–an enourmous challenge and the clocks ticking–back to football.

  • I really don’t think I am “complaining” about the wrong thing. As far as I’m concerned, that little bipartisan statement Pelosi made was not true. She cannot call the passage of that bill bipartisan just because one Republican voted for it. Anytime someone spins the facts, then they are not telling the truth.

  • I think this is ok…It has just let EVERYONE know who they need to VOTE OUT OF OFFICE in 2010. Besides, this crap is going NOWHERE IN THE SENATE…I hope.

  • Megan: I see you did your usual drive by…

What freedoms am I losing? Let’s start with every extra penny the government confiscates from my paycheck. that limits my freedom to do many things…such as travel, shop, etc.. Then lets go on to the fact that dollar is worth less every single day with this administration’s spend thrift policies. that further limits my freedom. Your trouble is you don’t know what constitutes freedom. Freedom isn’t just what is enumerated in the Constitution or the Bill of Rights. Freedom comes in many forms that take physical and mental shape…like movement. Freedom to simply move. Confiscating the hard work of Americans limits their freedom in many ways or forms.

Now that I have explained that to you why don’t you start explaining to me how the Patriot Act has limited YOUR freedoms.

  • JDN: You suffer from a disease known as PC’ism. When Obama is compared to Hitler, he is not being compared for the gassing or the ovens, but he is being compared for some of his policies and most importantly his methods. Hitler was an orator that roused the German people out of a slumber and straight off of a cliff. Obama is running an exact parallel course using the exact same tactics. Hitler was a politician, a union thug of a politician, long before he was a straight up racist and murderer.

  • He was always a hater as detailed in Mein Kampf which was published in 1925-26 a full decade before he, and his band of pshycos, comes to power…and quite frankly, he was a lot tougher than Bo, who is not very tough at all….If I were a democrat, with the kind of mandate he had when he won, I would have rammed that bill through the system, threatening every SOB in my party with anything at my disposal who threaten to oppose me, and told the other party frankly to kiss my half black ass or go along, in true Regan or Lyndon Banes Johnson style-now there was a legislator. When you have power and a mandate you simply use it.. but Bo still thinks he’s cute. It embarrasing for democrats with the kind of majorities they had a year a go to have to beg some poor pathetic Rep congressman out of LA to go along with them for insurance. If Cao had dissed them that bill would have passed by one vote! The dem defections have been a joke. It’s a shame the republicans are not organized, because Bo is vulnerable.
