Turns out, we could be completely free of our dependency on foreign oil, if our government would just LIGHTEN THE FREAK UP on restrictions preventing us from getting to our own FREAKING OIL.
According to this, we pretty much have the largest energy reserves on the planet. And nearly 30% of the world’s coal reserves too.
Hey! I have an idea! Let’s create legislation that caps energy production and taxes and penalizes companies who exceed the cap! And while we’re at it, let’s eliminate jobs by the thousands and cause energy prices to “necessarily skyrocket” and send tons of jobs overseas in the process! YAY!

It boggles my mind that ANYONE could be stupid enough to vote for Obama. I just want to scream, “WAKE UP PEOPLE. LOOK AT WHAT THIS DOUCHE BAG IS DOING TO OUR COUNTRY!!!” Now before any of you Liberal “Bush” arguing morons point out to me that Bush wasn’t “any better”, believe me I know. I didn’t much like him in the end myself. But B.O. is about 100 times WORSE….We traded a bad president for the Antichrist….P.S. I didn’t get this opinion from Fox News either, so now all you Liberals out there will actually have to come up with a valid argument besides, “It’s Bush’s fault!” or “You got that from Fox News!”…Good luck to you.
Michael: Bush was like most presidents in our history…some good along with some bead. People are letting the media form their opinions. I also don’t think people take into account the hand that Bush was dealt. Do I agree with everything he did? Hell NO! but I also know most of it begins and ends in the congress, not the oval office.
As to energy independence, it is going to take electing some extremely courageous people. Right off the top that oil would have to be put into the world market…so you have to figure out how to keep it here. Next stop it would lower the price of oil, which would make the Saudi’s bristle so the the fight over the dollar being the world’s currency would kick up in a huge way!
Next up the enviro whackos have stopped the building of refineries, so getting it out of the ground into an energy source would be difficult at best to be of any help.
