Hey, Maryland Atty General – How Fast Can You Backpedal?

 2009-09-15_131942

According to this, ACORN can’t legally operate in the state of Maryland.  Huh.

You might recall that I told you recently that the MD Attorney General was going to launch an investigation into whether or not James O’Keefe obtained his video footage of the clowns in various ACORN offices illegally.  You know, because out of all the possible people doing stuff wrong in this situation, James O’Keefe clearly tops the list.  Riiiight.

Anyway, apparently ACORN forfeited its corporate charter for Maryland waaaay back in 2006, and ACORN Housing forfeited its charter in 2008.  So pretty much any ACORN office in Maryland that’s currently open for business is kiiiind of breaking the law.  Which, lucky for them, is all anyone expects them to do at this point anyway.

This probably isn’t going to be the greatest news for that MD Atty General, though.  I would imagine that somewhere during his big scary investigation into O’Keefe, this whole pesky corporate charter thing miiiiight come up.

It’s just like the ACORN lawsuit against Fox News – all it’s going to do is open up ACORN’s entire operation to scrutiny, and seeing as how their entire operation is corrupt, I would bet that Fox News is more than happy to participate in this particular legal process.

In case there’s anyone out there who is missing an Actual Brain and still doesn’t see what’s wrong with ACORN, here’s a link you might be interested in as well.

  • Great commentary on this AWESOME story I am glued to!

  • Glen Beck just has the breaking news on CA ACORN employee admitting she KILLED her husband. Here is part of the video in text:

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: I in my life have been abused, also. I mean just with an ex‑husband, a husband, you know, that just beat the hell out of me, you know, a few times and then, you know, I killed him. But it ‑‑ I don’t think that that’s a nice thing. I don’t think that ‑‑

    JAMES: You killed him emotionally?

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: No, I shot him.

    (Inaudible)

    JAMES: Self‑defense?

    ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: Yeah.

JAMES: How old were you then?

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: It was only actually about ‑‑ well, I was 35.

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: No, not right that instant, but ‑‑

    JAMES: But then ‑‑

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: Well, actually he was going to, but I knew he was going to but I knew the second I opened my mouth when I said [ BLEEP ] you and I walked away ‑‑

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: No, not right that instant, but ‑‑

    ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: I knew ‑‑

HANNAH: You knew it was coming.

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: I knew it was coming.

HANNAH: That’s smart. I wish I could do that to the pimp.

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: Yeah, I know it. I know it. And he was 6′ 2,” 6′ 2″ and weighed 300 pounds.

JAMES: 300? He was kind of fat.

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: He wasn’t real fat but he was big, really big.

    HANNAH: Husky guy.

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: Yeah. And he came at me, and I let him throw me around a little bit, you know, and then I just picked up the gun and said [ BLEEP ] you. And I shot him. And he died, right there.

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: And ‑‑ but before that I had done ‑‑

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: Some ‑‑ laid some groundwork, you know.

ACORN REPRESENTATIVE: I went to the violence shelter and I pleaded my case with them so everybody in town was knowing that this was happening.

Glenn will have the whole hour long video at 5 today I guess.
