According to this article, the new health care plan is a heaping pile of monkey poo. Well, that’s what I get from the article, anyway.
To give you the latest Readers Digest version, here are the nifty little highlights from the Democrats’ proposed health care legislation:
- $600 billion in tax increases (gee…I wonder who’s paying THAT?)
- $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid
- Goes above the $634 billion Obama promised in his budget request to Congress as a 10-year down payment for the policy changes (I know, I’m shocked, too)
- The overhaul will cost more than $1 trillion over a decade (lovely)
- Will consider tax increases in the bill (you think?), including a possible end to the income tax exclusion for employer-paid health benefits (niiiice)
- Will apply income tax to health care plans
Of course, Obama is planning on paying for this by attacking the wealthy first – I mean, he might as well, right? - then he’s going to cut Medicare payments to insurance companies. Of course, that won’t suffice, so he’s planning on cutting about $200-$300 billion more in Medicare/Medicaid.
And then the article goes on to talk about how Democrats are trying to spin this nightmare of a Marxist piece of crap plan by focusing on the positive. Like the more universal care we’re all going to get. Which, I might add, should not be confused with BETTER care. It also can’t be confused with more choices. But it SHOULD be labeled as government bureaucrats deciding how, when, and from whom I receive care – if I receive care at all.
Yeah, I don’t see how ANY of this is better…
I have several questions about this crappy new plan. Questions like, “If I have health insurance through my job, do I think it’s O.K. for the government to additionally tax me for THEIR crappy health care “plan”? Do I agree with government deciding and possibly rationing the care for me and my family? What about illegal immigrants that get FREE health care? What’s being done about that and how it blatantly drives up the cost of healthcare in this country?
The government is known for waste, fraud, and incompetency. Why is it that we’re trusting them to make decisions about our health?
I still don’t get it. And, I definitely don’t want this dose of change.

I wonder if people realize that Obama’s taxing your health care benefits as income is going to bump everyone up a bracket including the working poor?! It will also skew poverty level numbers.
His plan is in effect a gut punch followed by a kick in the teeth so you momentarily won’t be preoccupied with that cancer rotting out your colon. Oh and guess what? You don’t get to avoid that tax by opting not buy heath insurance, it’s mandatory.
Of course none of this will work, and Obama knows it. He wants all government controlled health care and he knows he will get it when this is a colossal failure. He has some wisdom because he knows a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single misstep.
This is great. We’re heading for a cratering of the economy already, due to a ’stimulus’ bill we couldn’t afford in the first place, and now we’re going to take on another trillion dollars (does anybody believe that’ll be the actual cost?) to receive poorer healthcare than we already get.
