Look at the love-fest happening between Janeane Garofalo and Keith Olbermann. He’s practically drooling at all of her hate-speech. I’m just going to summarize some of her drivel about the Tea Parties to save those of you who can’t bear to stomach actually listening to her:
1. “Let’s be very honest about what this is about. It’s not about bashing Democrats, it’s not about taxes – they have no idea what the Boston Tea Party was about (Keith interjects: That’s right). They don’t know their history at all. This is about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up. This is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks and there is no way around that.”
2. “The limbic brain inside a right-winger or Republican or conservative or your average white power activist is much larger in their headspace than in a reasonable person and it’s pushing against the frontal lobe. So their synapses are misfiring. It is a neurological problem that we’re dealing with.”
3. “This is about racism. It could be any issue, any port in the storm. These guys HATE that a black guy is in the White House. They immigrant-bash. They pretend – it’s taxes and teabags, but like I said most of them couldn’t probably tell you thing one about taxation without representation, the Boston Tea Party, the British Imperialism, whatever the history lesson has to be. But these people -all white, for the most part, unless there’s some people with Stockholm Syndrome (Keith interjects:…Which was bad news for the people at Fox News who were staging this…).”
4. “The Republican movement – the conservative movement has now crystallized into the White Power movement. ”
She goes on to suggest that Fox News’ only viewers are the 18-35 Klan demographic and “urban older white guys and the women who suffer from Stockholm Syndrome.”
You know what I would love for her to show me? ANY DATA which shows that your average everyday conservatives have ever brought race up EVER when discussing their political ideologies. I couldn’t give two craps about Obama’s race, but now that she and the rest of her liberal buddies are so hell-bent on mentioning it, shouldn’t someone point out to HER that he’s every bit as white as he is black? I didn’t see one sign, or meet one person at our Tea Party who had an issue with the skin color of our President. When are liberals going to figure out that the only people making an issue out of his skin color are THEM?
I watched that last night and just laughed uproariously. I love Olbermann, for comedy. It’s so funny to watch him get all fired up when he’s so completely clueless about the planet.
And Janine Garofalo? Really? Let’s imagine what the casting decision was like: “OK, we need to find someone who is just off the deep end looney to the left but still sounds coherent. Ah! Garofalo! Somebody see if she’s available or if she’s sitting for another tattoo right now.”

I couldn’t watch the clip, because just the reading the summary had my blood boiling. If I had actually watched the clip I’m sure I would’ve punched my computer monitor.
Hate to say it, but this is the edge of the wedge. The Republican Party as hostage to right wing looney’s started with Obama calling out Rush and this tea bagging disaster only cements the story. Fewer and fewer people care to call themselves Republican. If this keeps up ‘conservative’ will take on the same negative cast that we so nicely managed to hang on Liberals for all of the Bush years. It looks as if the Party’s over. The folks interviewed on FOX at the Tea Parties were an embarassment to thinking conservatives everywhere. This is an unmitigated public relations disaster for conservatism.
Uh…. did any of you guys see the clip they showed before she starts talking. It was of the guy who got up and gave a speech that starts with a shout out to us veterans and then rails against the government for spending us into a deep hole.
Of course, the crowd was all with the guy until they realized he was criticizing the BUSH administration for putting us in this position with all of its wasteful spending.
Maybe it’s not about the color of skin, but after seeing that, how can you argue that the tea parties (or at least that one) wasn’t ALL ABOUT raging against Obama (for whatever) instead of raging against government spending.
The folks were CHEERING him when they thought he was criticizing Obama’s spending but turned on him when they realized he was talking about Bush.

soldier – I can tell you unequivocally that the Indy Team Party was not about Obama bashing. It was purely about protesting policy. Republicans have been totally guilty of pork spending over the last several years too, and I freely admit that. It’s got to stop.

After hearing her remark (Women that attended the Tea Parties are like Hitlers Honey, Eva)I think all the women that attended a tea party should bring a Character Assination Law Suit against her…..Let’s find a Law Firm such as Michael Savage did Savage vs Napolitano (Thomas Moore Law Center)….If we could get all the women and girls that attended a Tea Party to sign on (and I’m sure there is away to get intouch with the organizers) we could at least Make a Big Stink throw a TV out the window “We’re Fed Up and We Are Not Going To Take It Anymore”

Arron you were being waaay too tough and vitriolic on Kim, who I tink made a great point from a REPUBLICAN persective about how the spin of the coverage of the Tea parties got skewed. I realize there is a lot of fustration out there, but part of the problem with the coverage of the event was each news out let covered the event from there own politcal filter. Fox hyped it as anti Obama, the liberal media ignored it or called them a bunch of kooks and racists, and so a real and objective accounting of the scale and content of the event was not really grasped, conservative journalist Peggy Noonan talks effectively about this. And this points to the deeper problem of republicans loosing control over the messaging of their brand, and until someone steps up and helps to unitfy a consitent focused conservative theme that has wide populist impact, a vision that includes but is bigger than just taxes and spending-something inspirational-the Garofalo’s and Olbermann’s are going to continue having a field day defining the repunlican party as a party in decline that is becoming a warehouse of racists, extremist and petty white angst…a huge report/study was just released this week suggesting the the scope of the American Dream may be in decline due to our economic situation-some arguing the Obama policies are designed to prepare us for this organic eventuality-this natural settleing and leveling off of American exeptionalism, this seems to me to be a perfect place for conservatives to begin building an impassioned affirmative message that says they have the ideas to show that, as a civilization, black,white,brown,yellow,red included, we can be and still are on the rise.

That pretty much says all about her one needs to know. How pathetic.
Amazing that while most of us Conservatives argue our ideological differences with integrity, these characters resort to insults like ‘tea baggers’, embracing and perpetuating truly racist and otherwise hate-filled animosity. I can only hope the average American can see that for exactly what it is.
